Hotel Des Indes

My friends organized a scavenger hunt in The Hague for my 23rd birthday. During this nice surprise, we stumbled upon this astonishing place. The doorman kindly let us in to look around. The place is indeed very beautiful. After strolling around the hotel we see a free coffee machine. We naively make a coffee and a hot chocolate. Maybe a controversial action but we didn’t mean any harm. As the drinks are brewing, a staff member came up to us. He asked if we were guests and we say no. He asked if we were going to pay for it. Of course. He charges us 12 euros for a coffee and a hot chocolate from a very simple machine. We were a bit taken aback by the excessive price but did not want any trouble, so we obliged with no discussion. During the whole interaction, his tone was very rude. Even though we complied and stayed respectful, he did not act kindly. It’s a beautiful hotel, we unfortunately did not feel welcome.

The hotel has a very pleasant cafe. The service is very pleasant, the staff are nice and attentive, and it offers valet parking. The Anna Pavlova pastry is a must.

Wow hotel! I was there for coffee. Great location and excellent service. The food is delicious.

Our stay was unfortunately disappointing. The location is excellent, and the entrance area is modern and welcoming. However, there were several issues. The room was dusty, and there were some exposed or damaged areas that felt unsafe. The biggest disappointment was the communication regarding extending our stay. We were told that there were no rooms available if we wanted to stay longer. However, we later saw that rooms were still available online. This gave us the impression that we were not being told the truth. If there was another reason, it should have been communicated honestly. Phenomenal hotel with rich history and an excellent location. Nice buffet breakfast with a la carte options, and high tea was a highlight.

Fantastic hotel with superb service. The restaurant is also very good. Delicious food with super attentive service. We celebrated our aunt's 80th birthday here and were really spoiled.

Delicious lunch at an always inspiring place!

Amazing High Tea! Great ambiance and lovely atmosphere in this beautiful hotel, located in the city center. First of all, a nice glass of bubbly that tasted excellent. Then a beautiful 3-course menu, where a different tea was served with each course. It was served in a particularly tasteful way, super delicious, and of excellent quality that you could actually taste. The service was also top-notch, but I didn't expect anything less. Perhaps not cheap, but quality simply has to be paid for. Of course, you don't do this every month, but if there is a special occasion and you want to surprise someone who will appreciate it, it is highly recommended.

Very luxurious hotel. It has been around for a very long time, but is certainly not a shadow of its former glory. This is what you expect a chic hotel to be.
