About this place Beach Nova Icària

Nova Icària is one of Barcelona's city beaches, just east of the Port Olímpic. It is a mainstream beach with lifeguards, showers and chiringuitos. It is not a gay beach, though it is relaxed and mixed. Barcelona's gay beach spots are Mar Bella, a few stops further east, which has a nudist section, and Sant Sebastià in Barceloneta. It is busy on summer weekends and quieter on weekday mornings. Keep an eye on your bag, since theft on Barcelona beaches is common.
