TRAVESKING with Barjaula Travesti + Maldito Félix: Marikones and Butchones

TRAVESKING is a monthly queer and transfeminist coven that emerges in Bilbao to demonstrate that critical thinking and the stage go hand in hand. This meeting is a hybrid proposal, combining the format of a talk and discussion with a live performance. The event is divided into two parts: first, we will open a space for COLLECTIVE TALK to discuss current issues, talk about artists and their creative processes; and then, there will be the performance, where, depending on the month, we will opt for performance (from drag and cabaret to poetry or music) and projection.
Each month, we will invite a different artist to share their experience and art, and the meeting will be led by Barjaula Travesti Drag King.
TravesKing was born out of the urgent need to open stable spaces for creators in the Bilbao scene. This project was created to weave networks with popular and self-managed initiatives in the neighborhood, building a space for visibility and a long-term refuge, so that dissident creators have the opportunity to experiment calmly, develop their art, share the work they do face-to-face, and have a good time.
