About this place The Ring

The Ring is a gay cruising and fetish club on Calle Amparo in Lavapiés, south of the main Chueca scene. It is not a bar in the usual sense: the space includes a maze, cage, dungeon-style rooms and wet areas, and membership is required, with day and weekly passes available (listed at €10 and €20). It opens only on Friday and Saturday, from 9pm to 5:30am, and gets busy late, after the Chueca bars. Many nights are themed with dress codes, so check the website's event page before going. Use the cloakroom, respect a no, and bring your own condoms and lube as backup.

May 2026 Things change. Aside from the charming staff at the box office and the cleanliness of the place, a year later I have to revise my verdict: the people were much more sociable, and thankfully, they were human beings with a bit of a belly, not the cold, artificial clones of last year with beards and gym bodies. The night was great. May 2025 First of all, I must mention the friendliness of the staff: the guy at the entrance was wonderful and charming. The waiters were friendly and very attentive. The place was clean and spotless. Lastly: I was disappointed and surprised by the people who were there this past Friday. It seemed that, in general, the attendees didn't really know what to do in their daily lives. They lacked basic principles. They looked very lost.

This place was worse than the reviews suggested. The check-in process is excessive, the security is intrusive and borders on harassment. The place is dirty and isn't cleaned overnight. I've never been watched while undressing upon entering a gay bar before; it was a very unpleasant experience overall. Furthermore, upon leaving, you realize it's located in a very unsafe neighborhood in Madrid.

Very interesting people and a very spacious place. It's best to go on Fridays when it's usually busier. The only downside is having to fill out the form, although if you become a member you just need to hand over your card and you're all set.
