About This Event
València's Orgull is a protest march first. It's organized by Lambda, the city's main LGBTI+ collective, and its relationship with the conservative PP city government has been tense for several years. Lambda accuses the Valencian government of rolling back LGBTI+ rights through changes to the regional trans law. Since 2024 it has dropped the official party after the march, citing political interference. What's left is an evening march and a week of talks, a cultural route and other activist events.
The crowd gathers on the Albereda, between the Pont del Real and the Pont de les Flors, from about 17:30. The march sets off at 19:30 from the Pont de l'Exposició and ends in the Plaça de l'Ajuntament around 22:00. LGBTI+ sports clubs Dracs and Samarucs and Chrysallis, the association of families of trans minors, are regulars. With no official party, people head to the bars in Ruzafa and the old town afterwards.
The march is normally held close to June 28. In 2026 Lambda moved it a week earlier, to Saturday, June 20. The reason was to distance itself from the Gay Games, which the city hosted that summer. Lambda criticized the authorities for funding a mega-event while cutting trans rights. Coverage of the 2025 march spoke of thousands of marchers. We found no official count, so we can't confirm the 40,000 figure. The 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked.
