Doric Hotel

Brilliant hotel. Down for 3 days and the staff are all absolutely brilliant. Ian from the restaurant was so kind and attentive the full time. I’d especially like to give a special mention to Dylan on reception. I had a few minor issues that had nothing to do with the hotel and he helped on more than 1 occasion. I tried to catch him before I left to personally thank him but I think the last day must have been his day off. The last member of staff I’d like to thank is the cleaner but sadly I didn’t get her name. She was on the fourth floor if that helps. Kind and polite the full time. Hotel was clean and trendy. Beds were great. Bath in the room which I always love. The food was always quick enough but possibly the only thing I’d mark the hotel down for. Plenty of options and fresh but the quality was lacking for me sadly. If I’m back at Blackpool again it will be to this hotel. 10 minutes away from the main attractions but the tram stop is right outside the hotel.

Very cool place to lodge but i dont like the fact that they only change bedding if you are staying up to 7 days. That was so strange to hear. Breakfast was wonderful. Kitchen staffs were so lovely.

Our family stayed for one night, room was nice and recently refurbished. Food was great. Facilities were good but not the cleanest. Not bad location tram stop right outside. Only let down was the bed, roack hard and we didnt sleep well at all. Had a good stay apart from the beds. Good value for money. We went half board.

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. 1) The “so called” receptionist was unprofessional, rude and disrespectful, demanded my car key so the manager could move my vehicle which was not blocking anything(???) after reading a car parking notice stating that “customers park at their own risk and the hotel is not responsible for any damage etc” why would anyone want to hand over their car keys? Bar staff: young gentleman working behind the bar looked absolutely fed up he had to serve a drink, think he just wanted to go home. 2) We stayed for one night after driving my daughter and her friend up for the week, the so called receptionist spoke to them like trash, I’ve never encountered such unprofessional front of house service and would recommend the hotel sack her as they may get a few more customers. 3) it got even worse: the floor (level 1) where my daughter and friend are staying for the week absolutely stunk of cannabis, we were chewing it walking passed room 3 and 4 apparent exec rooms, children stay in this hotel and no one gives a crap. 4) Hotel Room: dank, smelly and the shower cubicle has black mould 🤮. The worst thing was the bed, I’ve slept on more comfortable floors, the springs where pinging and poking through, I had to sleep on top of the sheets as the bed had fluff of some description in it. 5) Swimming pool and Jacuzzi- tbh the swimming pool was the best thing although small was warm and appeared clean, we pulled a used glow stick (?) out of the jacuzzi so not sure what else is floating around in their. 6) Deposit: we booked through Booking.com and although this “deposit” is mentioned on the Doric's website there is no mention of this on booking.com. We were told that the deposit would be “held”?? But it was taken from our bank account, although personally I can’t see what damage you really could do to the hotel room I guess they think they are pretty high spec, personally I would knock the whole building down and start again, the hotel is so outdated with silver tape holding down the carpet in parts I guess so Customers don’t trip and come away from the hotel with a worse bad back after sleeping on their mattresses. 7) I spent all night awake due to the mattress and listening to the guests upstairs having a wee multiple times and then snoring in between. I have stayed in many guest houses and hotels in Blackpool and also stayed in better hostels!

Have just had a smashing friday to monday at the Doric. Staff were all very friendly, our room was large and airy, very clean with a really comfortable bed. We had bed breakfast and evening dinner which was all excellent. Plenty of choice and nicely hot. Entertainment was all very good. Cannot complain about anything and am hoping for a return visit.

Nice and great value place to stay

Stayed one night to celebrate our daughters 40th birthday. 5 adults, 3 children. Three rooms. Positives. The staff were wonderful. The breakfast was outstanding. The grandkids loved the pool and the children's entertainment and they enjoyed them immensely whilst us girls went to Funny Girls. The negatives were the beds. They were horrendous. Also the lift only held two people at a time. Wholly inadequate for a hotel with this many rooms. Having said all that, if they got the beds sorted would definitely stay again and would recommend.

I won’t be staying there again. There was no one to welcome us when we arrived, which immediately gave a bad first impression. As soon as you walk in, the place smells strongly of smoke, and it only gets worse from there. You pay a lot of money for what ends up being a dirty, poorly maintained room. On top of that, they have the cheek to demand a £150 deposit for potential damages. Throughout our stay, the bedsheets were never changed — they just made the beds, and even that looked like a 5-year-old had done it. The beds themselves were completely worn out and extremely uncomfortable. The entire hotel feels outdated, shabby, and generally unclean. The room was freezing because the heating didn’t work, and the shower was barely functional — more like a dripping tap than an actual shower. The entertainment was very disappointing, and the beers were absolutely awful — they actually made me feel unwell for a full day. The kitchen also closed far too early for a hotel, which was very inconvenient. The lift took an incredibly long time to reach each floor, and during our whole stay, we barely saw any staff apart from the bar staff. The pool area was especially unpleasant — grimy, dirty, and not properly maintained. By the end of our stay, all of our clothes and suitcases smelled terrible from being in the hotel. Overall, this place completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable stay in Blackpool.

Lovely hotel , great food. Entertainment,pool , tram tickets thrown in all inclusive
