Bute Park

Bute Park is Cardiff's biggest park, stretching north from Cardiff Castle along the River Taff. Its wooded northern part, towards Blackweir, has a long reputation as an after-dark gay cruising area. Nothing here is organised; it is informal and depends on who turns up. By day the park is full of families, runners and dog-walkers. Sex in public places remains an offence in the UK, so be discreet, avoid anything that could be seen by others, and keep valuables to a minimum. The park is poorly lit away from the main paths; let someone know where you are going.
