Perfect check-in procedure – contactless and smooth. I parked my car at the Low Bridge car park (2-minute walk), great value and plenty of space. Within a couple of minutes, you’re right in the city centre.

I have stayed here a few times. The location is good and the accommodation facilities are good...BUT BEWARE of what feels like problemmatic leadership here that sets a troubled and toxic organisational culture as exemplified by the below. Strap in! You will recieve a number of initially forgettable emails for which you will need to upload photo ID and an additional payment card above your booking fee holding deposits for damage you might not have caused yet. These emails are time limited before arrival and need to be completed before their office closes mid-afternoon. Another third party email will follow which has an internet link on that gives you access to the building and apartment. Be aware if you didnt have your charged phone with mobile signal you would be in real difficulty. I've seen hotels virtue signal about not washing towels as a ecomeasure before but here you will be given a stern message about being a reasonable guest for energy use. You are told heating is set at values approved by the Energy Saving Trust but if you are cold you can call the management and request an increase or if intend on being cold for a while then buy an energy package. You are told too about the set times the hot water is switched on. This general approach of reducing the cost of your stay to them is seen in other examples like the tiniest bottle of milk you have ever seen in your fridge better suited to a doll's house and the minimalist supplies of toilet roll etc. It really takes the edge off the idea of being away from home and not having to worry about such matters. Whatismore this cost cutting leads to an unsettling disparity between the physically good standard and what i would say are the management's attitudes towards its guests. There is another apartment hotel complex hiding out around the corner from here that is at the other end of the spectrum when it comes to welcoming and respecting its paying guests. I received at best passive aggressive emails from an unnamed manager after i posted a review elsewhere. (S)he uses her anonymity and management jargon to hide behind essentially accussing me of lieing about the above matters in what i perceive as a threatening approach, though was told i had the wrong feelings. That has left a really bad impression of this place and a reluctance to ever go back. This individual usually responds to new reviews very quickly and i suspect is able to do so as they won't get many repeat bookings. Get ready for that response below, with a dictionary at the ready or perhaps someone trained at the Basil Fawlty School of Hotel Management in Torquay who can translate. You have been warned, Googlers x ADDENDUM written after posting: see owner's response that illustrates the zero tolerance of guests i referred to. I have not ever been sanctioned by this accommodation and am at a loss to explain what booking priviledges had been removed that still enabled me to book. The response is disproportionate at best but crosses the line into defamation. See the photos ive added of my "entirely false" claims about the heating, door entry and general communication. Unfortunately the tiny milk bottle was too small to be seen through a camera lens. ADDENDUM #2 The owners have removed their initial response completely and inform me i should have read the listing at booking more closely. However, I am now accused of making an unjustified refund claim which i did not. I did ask for advice after receiving aggressive emails in response to my initial review but later on Expedia requested a refund. I have added the chat transcript and subsequent emails to the dossier of evidence. I am also told my behaviour to staff was unacceptable. I did not see or speak to a single staff member during the trip. I did however leave a tenner gratuity for the housekeepers which i hope was appreciated but not shared with the central office at The Kremlin HQ. Im alarmed by the owner's recurrent attacks on guests that are critical. This undermines not just the reviewer but the integrity of the whole evaluation process. Shocking!
