Hearty good food for a good price and a nice warm atmosphere. But most of all, a very kind and attentive service! Much reccommended.

The service was amazing. Attentive, kind, helpful, and loving. The food was excellent, and since I wasn't feeling well, they even made me some tea. Lovely!

We had a wonderful dining experience at The Castle Eatery & Ale House in Oxford. Zach and Alan were warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We ordered the homemade lasagna — layers of pasta, locally sourced beef mince, rich tomato sauce, and bubbling melted cheese, served with a fresh rainbow salad. Comfort food at its finest! We also shared a side of garlic bread and paired dinner with a lovely bottle of Ko Ka Ko Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, which complemented the meal perfectly. The atmosphere was relaxed, cozy, and exactly what we hoped for in a traditional Oxford pub experience. If you’re looking for casual pub dining with friendly service and hearty, flavorful food, we would absolutely recommend this spot.

A highly recommended pub! The staff were incredibly friendly. We were allowed to sample the different beers and received helpful recommendations. The food and atmosphere are also excellent. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Oxford.

Great food and great service

This is a true British pub that welcomes you off the street with a hello and a proper pint. Meat pies were great, toffee bread pudding and apple crisp were delicious, plus a good selection of ales and stouts. Say HI to Andrea, she is great!

Friendly and welcoming with hearty and consistent food — top it off with any of the ales and you will wonder why you bothered with anything comparable across the street at Westgate! Great service !

One of those places you stumble upon by chance. The food is typical UK fare, but the place is comfortable and very quiet for eating. The waiter was incredibly friendly, helped us with everything, and recommended places to visit in Oxford.
