The Mount Hotel

A Grade II listed Arts and Crafts country house in Tettenhall Wood, about four kilometres west of the city centre. The Mander family, who later built nearby Wightwick Manor, bought it in 1890 and enlarged it with the architect Edward Ould. The hotel has about 65 bedrooms, including executive rooms and an apartment in the converted stable courtyard, on a four-acre site with gardens. There is a 2 AA Rosette restaurant, afternoon tea, and an 18-hole golf course with a driving range. Wightwick Manor, run by the National Trust, is under a kilometre away. You need a car or taxi to get into town. Mainstream hotel, not a gay venue.
