Gay Bars & Clubs in Liège

Liège, the largest city in Wallonia, has a small but genuine gay scene. It is nowhere near the size of Brussels or Antwerp, but the dedicated venues are real, walkable and easy to combine in a single night out in the historic centre.

Where to Go

There is no single "gayborhood" in Liège. The main gay bars sit in the historic centre around Rue de la Casquette and Place du Marché, while the cruise and fetish clubs are clustered a short walk away on Rue Saint-Jean-en-Isle, on the edge of the mainstream "Le Carré" student nightlife quarter. Everything is within walking distance.

The Bars & Clubs

Le Moustache

Le Moustache (Rue de la Casquette 31) is the anchor of Liège's gay scene: a long-running bar and club with drag shows, DJs and a mixed crowd of locals and visitors. It is open late from Wednesday to Saturday and is the reliable meeting point in town.

Le Petit Paris

Le Petit Paris (Place du Marché 31) is a historic LGBTQ+ café-bar with a heated terrace, right in the centre opposite the Perron. It is the spot for a relaxed drink earlier in the evening.

L'Amusoir

L'Amusoir (Rue des Mineurs) is a Liège "chanson" sing-along café. It is gay-friendly and welcoming rather than exclusively gay, and a fun, unpretentious place for a drink.

The Chap's

The Chap's (Rue Bonne Femme, Grivegnée) is a men-only gay leather and fetish club with play rooms and a dress code — a cruise venue rather than a standard bar.

Le Spartacus

Le Spartacus (Rue Saint-Jean-en-Isle 12) is a late-night gay cruise and leather club with a bar, darkrooms, cabins and sauna facilities, open most evenings from around 22:00.

What to Expect

Friday and Saturday are the busiest nights. Dress is casual at the bars, with fetish/leather codes at the cruise clubs. The legal drinking age in Belgium is 18. Liège is generally safe; as anywhere, keep the usual awareness late at night. Check each venue's Facebook or Instagram for current opening hours and themed nights.
