Prague's gay bar scene has evolved from a few hidden venues into a genuine nightlife circuit — ranging from underground drag pubs to sleek cocktail bars. Most of the action is in Vinohrady, the established gay neighbourhood near Náměstí Míru metro station.
Vinohrady — The Gay Neighbourhood
Vinohrady is Prague's equivalent of Soho or the Marais — a residential neighbourhood with a strong LGBTQ+ presence, concentrated bars, and a generally relaxed atmosphere. The area around Náměstí Míru and down toward Prague 2 has the highest density of gay venues.
- Club Termix (Třebízského 4, Prague 2) — small, busy, and popular with young Czech locals. Best on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday when it genuinely fills up. Unpretentious, no tourist markup.
- AXM Prague (Vinohradská 40, Prague 2) — dance floor, DJ, and karaoke on Tuesdays; right in the Vinohrady heart.
- Saints Bar (Polská 32, Prague 2) — English-speaking staff, casual vibe, busy on weekends. One of the more accessible options for first-time visitors.
Old Town — For Tourists
- Friends Prague (Bartolomějská 11, Prague 1) — the largest gay drinking venue in Old Town; attracts tourists and a younger crowd. High visibility, easier to find than Vinohrady options.
- KU Bar Prague (V Kotcích 14, Prague 1) — mixed gay/straight, trendy, dress code encouraged (smart casual or better). More mainstream in feel.
- Cafe Cafe Prague (Rytířská 10, Prague 1) — coffee, beer, summer terrace. Less of a bar, more of a cafe with a welcoming atmosphere for anyone.
- Deja Vu (Jakubská 6, Prague 1) — alternative gay hangout; rated highly for atmosphere and character.
Smíchov — Late Night
Wild Boys Club (Nádražní 46, Smíchov) — open nonstop; bar, club, sauna, restaurant, and aqua show. The all-in-one option if you want everything in one location. Near Smíchovské Nádraží metro station.
Alternative Scene
The Bourgeois Pig Music Club (Koubkova 2, Prague 2) — described as an "unpretentious gay alternative hipster hangout" with vinyl records and a genuinely different vibe from the club circuit. Highest-rated venue in the city for character.
