Washington DC has a solid gay scene centred on Dupont Circle and the 14th Street corridor, and a handful of dedicated sauna and bathhouse venues serving the city's significant LGBTQ+ population.
Crew Club
The main bathhouse in DC — steam room, sauna, gym, private rooms, and lounge area on 14th Street Northwest. Open 24/7, frequently hosts themed events. The best-rated sauna venue in the city by a significant margin.
Glorious Health Club & Art Gallery
A genuinely unusual combination — adult venue with steam room, private rooms, and video lounge, alongside an art gallery displaying local and international artists. In Northeast DC on West Virginia Avenue.
The House
Member-owned private club in Northwest DC — steam room, sauna, private accommodations, and chill-out zone. Organises themed parties and community gatherings.
DC's Gay Scene
Dupont Circle is the historic gay neighbourhood — bars and restaurants around the circle, with Cobalt (now 30 Degrees), Fireplace, and JR's Bar among the institutions. The 14th Street corridor has become increasingly gay-friendly with newer venues. Capital Pride is in June and is one of the larger East Coast Pride celebrations. The city has strong LGBTQ+ legal protections as DC is a federal district with its own laws.
