St. Louis has one of the most established gay neighbourhoods in the Midwest — the Grove (Manchester Avenue in the Forest Park Southeast area) is a dense strip of gay bars, restaurants, and venues. Combined with a strong arts scene and the Gateway Arch, it's genuinely worth a visit.
The Grove
- Attitudes Bar (4100 Manchester Avenue) — one of the Grove's anchor gay bars; drag shows, themed nights, and a welcoming crowd. One of St. Louis's longest-running gay venues.
- Rehab Bar and Grill (4000 Manchester Avenue) — gay sports bar in the Grove; TVs everywhere, good food, and a relaxed bar atmosphere.
- PRIDE STL Bar — gay bar with regular entertainment programming in the Grove cluster.
- Clementine's Naughty & Nice Creamery (4319 Manchester Avenue) — LGBTQ+-owned ice cream shop in the Grove; a daytime institution and community gathering point.
Clubs & Late Night
- The Complex (3515 Chouteau Avenue) — large gay club complex with multiple rooms; drag shows, dance floors, and late-night hours. The main clubbing option in St. Louis.
- Just John Club (4112 Manchester Avenue) — neighbourhood bar and dance venue in the Grove; reliable crowd.
St. Louis Pride
PrideFest St. Louis is in June — one of the Midwest's larger Pride events, typically held in Soldier's Memorial Military Museum plaza downtown and extending into the Grove. The parade moves through the city. St. Louis's LGBTQ+ community is well-organised with numerous advocacy organisations.
