Stuttgart's Gay Sauna Scene

Stuttgart has a small but solid gay sauna scene — two established men's saunas that offer a relaxed, discreet space to unwind, sweat and socialise. They are welcoming to both regulars and visitors, with the usual mix of Finnish sauna, steam, bar and cruising areas.

Where They Are

The two saunas sit in different parts of the city rather than in one cluster: Sauna ViVA is central, in Stuttgart-Mitte, while Pour Lui is out in Bad Cannstatt, northeast of the centre. Both are straightforward to reach by U-Bahn or S-Bahn.

Featured Venues

Sauna ViVA: Central and Convenient

Sauna ViVA on Charlottenstrasse is Stuttgart's central gay sauna, an easy walk from the old-town bar quarter. Spread over a few floors, it offers Finnish and steam saunas, cabins, a bar and cruising areas, and runs regular theme days including a mixed/partner day and a last-Friday bear meet. Late-night entry is keenly priced.

Pour Lui: Bad Cannstatt's Gay Sauna

Pour Lui, on Schmidener Strasse in Bad Cannstatt, has served the city since 2006 and has been renovated over the years. It offers a comfortable, community-focused sauna experience with sauna and steam, relaxation areas and cruising zones, plus regular themed evenings such as its mask and naked parties. A good choice for a more laid-back visit slightly away from the centre.

What to Expect

Weekends, especially Friday and Saturday, are busiest; weekdays are quieter and more relaxed. Both saunas mix relaxation with cruising in the usual understated, respectful way. You'll be given a towel on entry; bring flip-flops for hygiene, and check each venue's current hours and theme nights online before visiting.

Practical Tips

Getting there: the U-Bahn and S-Bahn reach both saunas easily; from the airport, take the S-Bahn into the centre. Ages: entry is 18+ — carry ID. Safety: Stuttgart's saunas are considered safe, welcoming spaces; respect others' privacy and speak to staff if anything feels off.
