Tel Aviv is the most LGBTQ+-friendly city in the Middle East — openly gay, with a beach scene, a strong bar and club culture, and several dedicated sauna venues. The scene concentrates in the city centre and around the Florentin neighbourhood.
Sauna Ramses
One of the most well-established saunas in Tel Aviv — multiple floors with steam room, dry sauna, jacuzzi, private cabins, dark areas, and a bar. Popular with both Israeli men and international visitors. Central location, consistently busy on weekends.
Sauna Club
Tel Aviv's dedicated gay sauna facilities are a well-integrated part of the city's gay nightlife circuit — the scene runs late (midnight starts are normal) and the saunas serve as early evening and late-night options alongside the clubs.
The Beach Scene
Gordon Beach and the beachfront around it function as an unofficial gay social space — particularly the area near the Gordon Pool at the northern end of the city's beach strip. Openly gay, warm weather for most of the year, and directly integrated with the cafe and bar scene on the promenade.
Gay Bars & Clubs
The main gay bar and club scene is in and around the city centre and Florentin:
- Evita — the historic gay bar in Florentin; unpretentious, local crowd
- Shpagat — Ben Yehuda area; relaxed neighbourhood bar with mixed gay/straight crowd
- Poli House — boutique hotel bar that's become a gay social hub
- Haoman 17 — large club that hosts major gay party nights
Tel Aviv Pride
Tel Aviv Pride (June) is one of the most attended Pride events in the world relative to city size — it draws around 250,000 people. The parade runs along the seafront promenade. The week includes multiple parties, events, and international visitors. Book accommodation 6+ months in advance.
