Jimmy's Bar

Jimmy's is the village bar the guidebooks tend to miss and the regulars refuse to give up: a small, Spanish-run spot on Carrer d'Alacant where owner Jimmy pours the drinks himself, prices stay low, and free snacks and the odd shot appear without being asked for. It opens earlier than most of the strip, which makes it the natural first stop - a quiet drink and a chat before the street finds its volume. The crowd leans older and more relaxed than the late-night venues, with plenty of long-stay residents among the faces. As a counterweight to the DJs and drag around it, Jimmy's is the village's reminder that the Benidorm scene grew out of small Spanish bars like this one - and that they still do the basics best.
