From the moment you walk into OTO, you’re greeted by an incredible aroma from the kitchen that immediately sets the stage for dinner. The interior design is stunning—warm, sleek, and beautifully lit with marble surfaces, creating an ambiance that feels effortlessly sophisticated. We had reservations (which I definitely recommend making in advance since they get super busy) and opted for their highest-tier, 8-course tasting menu—the OTO Miyabi (22,990 ISK per person). I always love doing a tasting menu when traveling, and overall it was a great experience showcasing their Japanese-Italian fusion! Here is the rundown of our meal in order: Course 1 & 2 (The Starters): Hands down our favorite part of the entire night! The first bite-sized courses were incredible—especially the crispy nori bite topped with fresh seafood and ikura. They also served their version of a Bikini (crumpet with prosciutto di Parma, truffle honey, and parmigiano), though that one was just okay for me. However, those initial bite-sized starters overall were the most delicious part of the meal, and I don't think you can get those exact opening creations à la carte. Course 3 (Reindeer Salad / Deer Tataki): Thin, tender slices of deer paired with fresh greens, sesame, sweet chili, bilberries, and pecans. I really liked the deer—it had a great balance of savory, sweet, and crunchy textures. Course 4 (Tiger Shrimp Skewer): Grilled tiger shrimp with chili, garlic, and yuzu. Super flavorful and cooked well! Course 5 (Handmade Pasta): Fresh, delicate pasta served in a rich, velvety broth/sauce with fresh herbs. Course 6 (Hokkaido Milk Bread): Warm Japanese milk bread served alongside a rich spread. Everyone always mentions the milk bread here as a popular menu item! Course 7 (Seared Steak Main): The flavor profile with the oxtail ponzu and gremolata was lovely, though the steak itself ended up being a bit dry. Course 8 (Desserts): I really loved the strawberry sorbet with basil—it was bright, refreshing, and such a great flavor combination! They also served their signature, visually striking OTO Amalfi Lemon dessert. Drinks, Service & Pacing: We tried a couple of signature cocktails like the Karaf Amai (tequila, sake, plum, togarashi, and yuzu), which was super refreshing. We didn't get the Negroni della Vita ourselves, but if you like Negronis, they won awards for it so you should definitely try it! The service throughout the evening was top-tier—attentive, friendly, and deeply knowledgeable. The food did take quite a long time between courses, but it was a full tasting menu and the restaurant was super busy, so that's to be expected. Final Thoughts: If I went back again, I would probably order à la carte! The deer tataki was excellent, and doing à la carte would give the chance to try other dishes like their lobster cappelletti and miso cod. That said, it was still a great night out with awesome cocktails, gorgeous ambiance, and incredible initial bite courses!

Fantastic restaurant . I came with my girlfriend on our Iceland trip and loved the vibe and food experience . We went for the 6-course menu option which was absolutely delicious, a recommendation from Lisbet who was our lovely waitress and made the night even more special . We will definitely be coming back !

Incredibly nice experience! We ordered many small sharing dishes and everything we tasted was really good. Good food, good service and good atmosphere. Recommended!

This was an exquisite dinner experience for all. The service was excellent! Big shotout to my guy Finnur! Great guy, mjög huggulegur. The (off menu😉) wagyu was absolutely bonkerz, melting in my mouth like an italian ice cream.. Come here. Leave happy 😇 #FyrirDanna

The food tasted good! And loved their mocktails. Also I loved the attention to detail by the staff, especially on explaining the food. This restaurant is super expensive but it is worth the try😊

I can honestly say that this was the best meal I've ever had in my life. We did the whole tasting menu experience. I think the food was worth the price, but we were waiting 15-30 minutes between courses, which were only like 4 bites of food. We were the second or third people in the restaurant, but we ended up staying there for three hours. The service left much to be desired. The bartender, however, was amazing. His technique was impeccable. The karai amai was the best drink I've ever had. But yeah, if I knew I had to wait that long, I wouldn't have come. Side note: I loved the art in the bathroom. Each stall is unique.

One of the best meals we had in Iceland! We ordered the 8-course Miyabi tasting menu along with a few cocktails. Every course was delicious, but the deer tataki and the lemon dessert were standouts. I'll remember the deer tataki for quite some time. Our wonderful server, Lisbet, noticed that we preferred not to linger too long and paced the meal according to how quickly we were eating, which we really appreciated. The cocktails leaned on the sweeter side, but overall it was an excellent experience. Highly recommend! 😊

Japanese/Italian style restuarant. I had this place marked on my maps as a must visit and several locals from the area and beyond had recommended this place for dinner. It did not disappoint. Drinks were very good as was the food and service. I ordered the 8 course tasting menu and glad I did. Ms. Helga and another young gentleman (dont remember his name) were excellent in explaining the dishes. Small Bites, Bikini, Scallop, Deer Tataki(excellent), Lobster Cappelletti, Rib Eye and of course the Lemon OTO for dessert.
