Sugar Bear è il weekend primaverile dedicato agli orsi di Montreal, organizzato da Bear-It, la compagnia locale dietro al concorso annuale Mr. Bear Montréal. Unisce la scena dei bar del Village alla stagione delle "cabanes à sucre", quindi aspettatevi flanella, sciroppo d'acero e tante barbe.
Il programma si svolge nei bar del Village stesso, piuttosto che in un'unica sede. Nel 2025 (dal 10 al 13 aprile) si è aperto con un incontro al Black Eagle, il concorso Mr. Bear Montréal si è tenuto allo Stock Bar il venerdì e la serata è proseguita allo Stud per l'after-party. Il sabato ha diviso la folla tra un evento sociale all'Aigle Noir, una festa in un locale per soli uomini al G.I. Joe e il Bear Playground di Pitbull al Lion d'Or. La domenica si è conclusa con un brunch in stile "cabane à sucre" e uno spettacolo di drag al Cocktail.
Alcuni eventi sono gratuiti, altri sono a pagamento singoli. Nel 2025 il concorso è costato 25$, il Bear Playground 40$ e il brunch 50$. Alloggiate nel Village o nelle vicinanze per poter raggiungere i locali a piedi.
Bear-It ha annunciato l'edizione 2027 dal 7 all'11 aprile. Non siamo riusciti a confermare le date esatte del weekend del 2026.
