Albemarle Inn

Wonderful inn in a historic building. Very nicely appointed rooms. Great staff.

This was such a fantastic place to stay. Everything was so cozy, the furniture and fixtures were stunning, it's quiet and nice, and everything else you can imagine was good too. Sitting in the lobby and looking at that amazing fireplace was so pleasing. I do have one thing to point out. This wasn't an issue I had, but older people or people with disabilities should watch for slanting or uneven floors. Our bathroom floor slanted, and if it gets wet, that could lead to a fall. Just be careful. The staff was great. We barely interacted with them, but what little we conversation we had was professional and friendly. I 100% recommend staying here.

The Inn is very nice and nicely maintained. The location is excellent as we could walk to the Grove Park Inn and not have to pay the expensive parking. The beds were great and the Inn was quiet making for a good night's sleep. However, there was a glitch with us getting access to the Inn as we advised them we would be arriving a few hours after the 5:00pm check in time and they said they would leave us directions and the keys which they did. But there was a lack of detail in giving us two room keys and no front door key so we could not gain access to the Inn. It was cold and rainy and we had a long drive. So we called one of the two after-hour "emergency" numbers. The first number said the mailbox was full which is not a good thing. The second number went to voicemail. Several minutes later another guest came down into the living room and we were able to tap on the window and they opened the door for us, after making sure we had a reservation. At the same time my traveling companion was making a third call to try to gain entry and someone picked up at that time. So we gained entry, but in looking at both keys, it was obvious they were both the same key and they should have been checked before giving them out. The other thing is it would have been nice to have a hot breakfast instead of continental during a stay at a bed and breakfast as nice as this one. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

I highly recommend this place; it's beautiful, the service and cleanliness are incredible, the best place we stayed.

Very comfortable, very quiet, great staff! The location is within minutes of just about everything Asheville has to offer. The rooms were clean, and the breakfast was delicious. Definitely recommend coming here.

Incredible home base from which to spend 36 hours straight assembling your entry to the national gingerbread contest! highly recommend.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Abermarle. It was clean, peaceful, quiet, and accommodating. It is a beautiful old building and we would recommend to anyone looking for a unique place to stay for a honeymoon or anniversary.

The Albemarle Inn (no longer a B&B) • They advertise a continental breakfast, but it’s barely a continental snack at best. They offered a big communal bowl of vanilla flavored yogurt, bagels (probably a variety pack from Harris Teeter) with packaged cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, a bowl of oranges, and what they called pastries (brown muffin or prepackaged chocolate bars). Nothing special, nothing home baked. All other guests were dreadfully disappointed – not even close to a breakfast at Holiday Inn Express. First timers loved the mansion, hated the breakfast and will not be return visitors. With all the bakeries in town – they could at least have an arrangement to bring in fresh pastries. • The Albemarle web site describes the continental breakfast. However, if you’re searching for a B&B (using B&B as a filter) Trip Advisor, Travel US News, Booking.com, Expedia, Select Registry among others – the Albemarle is still listed as a B&B. Beware!! • Little things – e.g. advertise coffee at 8:00, breakfast 8:30. The earliest fresh coffee was out at 8:10 and as late as 8:30. We asked about this – response – well just use the Keurig coffee maker. • Housekeeping – now occurs after 3 nights stay. Our room was damp (despite the mini split A/C) to the point towels would not dry overnight. If your room is damp, unless you ask specifically for new towels, you’ll be drying yourself with wet ones in the morning. • On the flip side, the staff are extremely friendly. • We stayed numerous times, when they had a true breakfast. The prior owners, Fabrizio & Rosemary Chiariello, really cared, interacted with guests and made it a very welcome place. The current owners, the GBX Group, a financial investment corporation out of Cincinnati, have 211 real estate holdings in 24 states. If you want support Asheville, book at a locally owned B&B that really has cooked breakfast.

Our stay was perfect! We stayed in The Garden and it was so charming and clean. The entire experience was so special and unique. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful and peaceful stay yet so close to all of the offerings of downtown. Such a convenient location, just off of I-40. Our host was very polite and accommodating. She was available to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. We will certainly return!

I had a wonderful stay at the Albemarle Inn. The room was extremely clean and the inn was well kept. I was very impressed. The only drawback was the breakfast. It wasn’t great and some of the food wasn’t very fresh. Overall it is reasonably priced and a beautiful inn.

Stayed the weekend of 05/23-25/2025. Absolutely delightful. This makes you feel you are in one of the PBS Masterpiece series due its splendor. It is an old house and you will hear it, but don’t let that stop you. Will stay again. Charming place.

From the breathtaking beauty of The Albemarle Inn, gorgeous blooming flowers and gardens, majestic veranda, elegant rooms, delightful breakfast, delicious hors d’oeuvres and wedding dinner, customized wedding cake, skillful dog handlers, and lovely music, especially “The Wedding Song”, our family will always hold The Albemarle Inn close to our hearts. As Mother of the Bride, I am sincerely thankful for all of you helping to orchestrate Lola’s exquisite plan for her Dream Wedding. It was truly Perfect!!
