The honest summary:
Brescia has one queer bar, Sonida, and one active LGBTQ+ association, Arcigay "Orlando" Brescia. The city's Pride event now draws over 10,000 people every September. You won't find a gay sauna or a club scene in Brescia - for that, you'll need to head to the Lake Garda clubs or take the 36-minute train to Milan.
Legal in one line: same-sex activity is legal; civil unions have been recognized since 2016, but there's no national anti-homophobia law, and surrogacy is a "universal crime" as of October 2024.
What the scene looks like
Brescia's a city of 200,000 in eastern Lombardy, between Milan and Verona. Evening life happens in mixed bars around Piazzale Arnaldo and the Carmine quarter. Gay guides agree on a short list of queer spots - don't expect much.

Bars
Sonida (Via Malta 10, 2 km south of the centre) is Brescia's queer bar. It's free to get in. Check @sonidabrescia on Instagram for the weekly schedule - they have quiz nights, parties, and karaoke.
The CSA Magazzino 47 social centre hosts queer events, but we couldn't confirm their 2026 programme, so it's not listed as a regular venue.
Community and health
Arcigay "Orlando" Brescia (Via Valerio Paitone 42) runs a trans support group, a group for parents of LGBTI+ kids, a library, and social evenings. Their site has the calendar. For HIV and syphilis tests, head to Brescia Checkpoint (by appointment only).

Saunas and cruising
No gay sauna in Brescia. "The Sauna" on Via Orientale is just a regular wellness spot. The nearest gay sauna is Splash Club in Desenzano del Garda (28 km east), with a 20-metre heated pool, Finnish sauna, and darkroom - entry's €24 on weekdays, €27 at weekends, and you'll need an ARCO card.
Gattopardo (Via Vergnano 63, Chiesanuova) is an adult cinema club with video rooms and cabins. It's open to all genders, but you'll need an ARCO card, and it's closed on Tuesdays.
We didn't find any reliable info on outdoor cruising spots in Brescia - and remember, same-sex activity is legal, but public sex isn't.
Around Lake Garda
On weekends, the southern shore of Lake Garda has more going on than Brescia. You'll find gay clubs in Lonato del Garda, and Art Club Disco in Desenzano runs gay nights. Canneto beach near Desenzano is an unofficial naturist spot that gay visitors use.

Pride and events
Brescia Pride is held on the first Saturday of September. In 2024, it drew over 10,000 people; in 2025, about 15,000. The 2026 event had a march, a party, and three days of talks.
The 2027 date hasn't been announced yet. The city gave Pride its official patronage in 2024 and 2025.
Practical tips
- Getting there: Fly into Milan Bergamo (BGY), about 45 km west. Brescia's own airport is mostly cargo.
- Trains: Frecciarossa trains reach Milan Centrale in 36 minutes, and Verona in 35 - Brescia's a decent base for Milan nights.
- Getting around: The driverless metro runs from the station area through the centre. The old town's walkable.
- ARCO card: Buy it online or at the first club you visit - it works across the network.
- What to see: The Roman Capitolium and the Santa Giulia museum are a UNESCO site. Brescia was Italian Capital of Culture in 2023.
- Arcigay Brescia Bar doesn't exist - Arcigay's an association at Via Paitone 42.
- The Sauna Brescia is a mainstream wellness spot, not gay.
- Living Room (Via Ferri) probably closed - last mentioned in 2019.
- NOIR Club Privè is a couples' club, not a gay venue.
- Locale gay: gay bar or club
- Tessera ARCO: the ARCO membership card
- Serata: a themed night
- Corteo: the Pride march
