We recently hosted a group of 60 travel entrepreneurs for a week-long Kickstart Training at VOCO Sandpiper Bay All-Inclusive Resort, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The resort provided an excellent environment for both learning and networking. Our group met daily in the main theater, which worked perfectly for our training sessions. The accommodations were comfortable, the property was well-maintained, and our attendees and staff thoroughly enjoyed their stay. What truly stood out was the exceptional service from the VOCO team. A special thank you to Kate at the Sports Bar, who always greeted our group with a smile and outstanding hospitality; Rebecca at the Café, whose friendly service helped start each day on a positive note; and Luis from AV/Activities, who was instrumental in ensuring our meeting space and technical needs were handled seamlessly throughout the week. We appreciate the professionalism and dedication of the entire team and look forward to returning in the future.
We had a great stay at voco Sandpiper Bay! The rooms were great, everything was clean, and the staff members who went above and beyond really helped make our experience memorable. The addition of the coffee café was also a great touch and a wonderful addition to the resort. I want to give a special shout-out to Marty and Bryan, the bartenders, who were both fantastic and helped make our experience amazing! Rebecca and Lauren at the coffee café were also wonderful. Ruth and another lady from the activity center were amazing as well. Cassandra was very understanding and provided great service. I also want to recognize the two hosts who worked in the mornings. They were both great, although unfortunately, I don’t remember their names. These employees truly made a difference in our stay and deserve recognition for their excellent service. As far as the food goes, the taco truck and American food truck were very good, and the late-night snacks at the bar were great, too. Unfortunately, the main restaurant was a letdown. A good amount of the food seemed to consist of premade items from the store, and there wasn’t much variety. Another issue was that the food was often cold, which was surprising considering it was sitting under heat lamps. Breakfast was consistently good, but the omelet station was extremely slow. The wait for an omelet was much longer than it should have been, and it often felt like the staff were moving in slow motion. Lunch was generally better than dinner, and the lunch on October 18 was the best meal we had at the main restaurant. I was told that the food was catered more toward Central and South American tastes. I have no problem with different cuisines, but the overall quality and preparation were disappointing. Much of the meat at the carving station was overcooked or undercooked and dry, and there seemed to be some type of Chinese food, often lo mein noodles, every night. It also felt like the lunch offerings were being carried over into dinner. I wouldn’t mind that if the food was consistently good and there were more variety in the dinner options. One particularly disappointing dish was the ginger mashed potatoes, which just didn’t work for me. The activities were enjoyable, but I do think there is room for improvement. My biggest issue isn’t necessarily that the resort needs more activities, but that the activities offered should last longer. For example, trivia consisted of a 12-question Kahoot game that lasted approximately five minutes. I would have loved to participate in something that lasted longer and gave guests more time to have fun and interact with one another. I also think the resort could do much more with its pool area. This is Florida, and it’s hot! Guests want to spend time in the pool, so having more activities and entertainment around the pool would make the experience even better. Music is nice, but adding interactive poolside games and other fun activities would give guests more to do and make better use of the resort’s beautiful setting. Another concern is the landscaping near the activity center. There are some very sharp, pointy plants in that area, and my brother actually cut himself on one. I think the resort should look into trimming or replacing those plants, especially in areas where guests walk and participate in activities, to help prevent anyone else from getting hurt. Overall, there were some really great parts of our stay, especially the rooms, cleanliness, coffee café, food trucks, activities, and the employees who made us feel welcome. I would love to see the main restaurant improve its food temperature, quality, variety, and service. I would also love to see longer activities, more poolside entertainment, and attention given to the sharp plants near the activity center. We will definitely consider coming back, but I hope these areas improve before our next visit. The employees who went above and beyond made a lasting impression, and I hope they receive the recognition they deserve!
The place was very welcoming, the service was excellent, everything was delicious, thank you very much Claire at the front desk, thanks!
I loved it! A place to rest and relax with everything included. The staff was very attentive and friendly; even though the facility was being renovated, you didn't feel inconvenienced at all. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Darla at reception provides excellent service. The food is varied and very good. Highly recommended; I would definitely return.
