Home2 Suites by Hilton Salem

I’m a Hilton Honors Gold member and stay at 15–16+ Hilton properties a year and almost 1-2 months away from home. I exclusively stay only at Hilton properties and I rarely write anyreviews. But I genuinely felt I had to recognize TiChina at the front desk at Home2 Suites Salem. I arrived about 45 minutes early and called ahead about getting a room since my digital key wasn’t ready. TiChina was incredibly helpful and got me checked in quickly within about 15 minutes, my digital key was active. What really stood out was her genuine warmth and personality. When my wife and I stopped by the desk for my Gold member bag, she joked around with us and made us laugh. It was such a simple interaction, but it made us feel genuinely welcomed and appreciated. And of course, she gave us 2 Rice Crispy treats:) I’ve stayed at many Hilton properties, including some of the more upscale ones, and honestly, great customer service like this is what I remember most. TiChina was simply fantastic, and I’m not just saying that. I truly appreciate how she treated us. And of course, the rooms are spotless, super comfortable and I will definitely be back. China was so nice and helpful! We were having a rough time on our trip and she helped us out!! I love how our room had everything you need for an extended stay— including portable stove top, pots and pans, and scrub pads.

Staff was kind, rooms were clean and bed comfortable, pool and hot tub were great, and the outdoor area was great for dogs with bags and designated spots.

UPDATE: I love these kinds of phony responses of businesses asking you "reach out" so they can "investigate . . . further." I was standing right in front of three "team members" while checking out, and all I got was shade and snark in response to our complaints. Oh, and I forgot to mention that while the Salem "team member" who checked us in seemed to care that they'd carelessly given away the room we'd been promised, she "upgraded" us to a beat-to-hell bedroom suite that, astonishingly, had just a tiny full-sized bed instead of the king-sized bed we had booked. When was the last time you saw a full-sized bed in an American hotel? If the owner here really cares, they should take a trip down to South San Jose where the Home2 we stayed in the other night was a great example of how a hotel charging these rates ought to be run. *** This is like a Motel 6 impersonating as a Hilton property. Filthy. Beat up room furnishings. Barely any water pressure in the shower. Paper thin walls and ceiling. The young woman who checked us in was trying her best though.

Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was far from enjoyable, and what happened afterwards made it even more disappointing. When we arrived, we specifically asked for a quiet room. The receptionist assured us that all rooms were quiet. Unfortunately, that was simply not true. Our room was on the second floor, and the walls were literally vibrating because of the extremely loud music coming from the lobby. We went back downstairs to explain the problem, but the receptionist didn’t seem to understand why this was an issue. At one point, she even suggested moving us to the first floor, where the lobby was located — which obviously would have made the noise even worse. Eventually, we were moved to the fourth floor, where the music was less noticeable, although it could still be heard. However, despite specifically requesting a quiet room, we were then given a room with a connecting door to another room. The bed was also not particularly comfortable. What makes the whole experience even more frustrating is that there was a sign in the lobby stating that if you were not satisfied with your night’s stay, you would not have to pay for it. Based on that promise, we requested a refund for the night. Then came the most disappointing part: the hotel ignored our requests for weeks. We eventually had to contact Booking.com, which opened a case with the property. In the end, the hotel refused to refund us. So, in my opinion, this guarantee is completely meaningless if the hotel does not actually honor it. Don’t advertise promises to your guests if you have no intention of keeping them. Overall, a very disappointing experience. We specifically asked for peace and quiet, were initially given a room directly affected by extremely loud lobby music, and when we tried to rely on the hotel’s own satisfaction guarantee afterwards, we were simply left without a response and ultimately refused a refund.

I like the Home2Suites Hilton hotels. You get dishes, utensils, electric cook top, pans, and a dishwasher. Honestly, for this area, skip the Residence Inn. This is far superior.

I stayed at the Home2 Suites in Salem for 23 nights during a 30-day period, first for 11 nights and then again for 12, and I honestly have nothing but wonderful things to say. I travel extensively for work and spend more than 150 nights a year in hotels, so when I say I have zero complaints about a property, that is truly exceptional. Every single staff member I encountered was genuinely kind, welcoming, and helpful. There wasn’t one exception. The breakfast was outstanding, and I normally don’t even eat hotel breakfasts. Here, I actually looked forward to it every morning. The pool and hot tub were both great. It can be surprisingly difficult to find a hotel with a working hot tub or even a consistently open pool. The gym was also much better equipped than I expected, particularly when it came to the weight-training equipment. The inexpensive on-site washers and dryers were incredibly convenient during such a long stay. My room was spacious, quiet, extremely clean, and had everything I needed, including an induction cooktop, moveable desk, laundry basket(surprisingly lovely, I'm writing this from a different hotel right now and wish one was here for my 9 night stay). It was genuinely comfortable enough to feel like home during an unusually long stretch of work travel. What probably says the most is that during my second stay, the hotel was about 45 minutes from my work locations, and I still chose to stay there again because my first experience had been so wonderful. I will absolutely continue staying at the Home2 Suites Salem whenever I’m in the area. This hotel and its exceptional staff have earned my strongest possible recommendation.

So much about chain hotels is standardized, down to the color scheme and layout of the rooms. I was at the Home2 Salem for about a month for work, and in general, it's a Home2, newer and cleaner. Nice rooms, kitchenette with a fridge and freezer, a portable range (hadn't seen one of those...cool!) The bathroom isn't huge but it's big enough if you leave the door open (I travel solo, so no problem.) Breakfast is good, though I could go for a bit more variety. The difference was the service, from housekeeping to the front desk. Staff tries to help wherever possible. Housekeeping is VERY attentive. I dropped an item meant for the trash in the bathroom, back where I couldn't get to it. I thought I'd have to live with that for the rest of my stay. Housekeeping got to it on my next refresh day without my asking. That's attention to detail and it reflects how guests are treated. I was very pleased with the entire stay. Thanks to all!

This whole facility is nice. The staff are amazing from the housekeeping to the Area Sales Manager and everyone in between. The rooms are nice but the beds and pillows are the usual too soft and not comfortable. Everything else is great. One of the best fitness centers for a hotel ive seen. Its quiet 99% of the time. One of the best staff and hotels ive been in. Everything you would need to stay long term somewhere they have.

Great service when going to get food with my children, a worker named Marina made sure my kids had enough food with great customer service as well and very friendly. Definitely will come back.
