Palms City Resort

Great location in downtown Darwin

We had two garden Villas for 8 days. Some of the villas had plunge pools but ours didn't. The location was great and easy access by foot and car. Secure car parking was available for the villas. There is a laundry. Pool and bar. The only downsides were that the TV is hard to watch from the layout and had a few connection issues and there is a bit of street noise at times. Be aware that the Resort puts a hold on your credit card $150 per villa which they had not released on check-out and after discussion with the Resort and my bank drew a blank , the hold remains for 1 month so if you need it for bills, food or rent beware! This was the only low point of our holiday and still waiting for access to my money.

Different vibe to normal hotels. Stayed in a garden villa with surrounding palms. Lagoon pool and bar were good for hot days. Friendly bird at reception is a nice touch.

Staying in the 3 single bed room. It's a bit small but good. They have bungalows. The pool is great with bar. Cannot fault the location on the esplanade as you can walk to most places. Pickles the parrot is a cutie at reception.

Palms City Resort is in a great location if you want to be close to the city centre. I found the reception staff friendly and helpful. I had a standard room and it was very small and had old furniture. The bathroom was also very small - I am not sure how a large person would go taking a shower and the basin was so small it was useless and sprayed water everywhere. You had to pay $20 to use a gym that they were affiliated with. Although there is no charge for parking, there are only a very limited number of parks and it is first in first served so it is very likely you will not get a park if you arrive a bit late. There are parking meters on the street front. I stayed at the Adina Waterfront during this same trip and the rooms and facilities were much much better for the same price. And they had a good gym.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Palms Villa with a Private Outdoor Spa in celebration of his 21st birthday, and it was a very relaxing experience. We loved our 1 night stay here! He also loved seeing the parrot - very cute!

Gate scanner didn't work and asked to exchange it and they wouldn't, the space was described as a free standing bungalow and was attached to another room and the guests next next were constantly closing their doors loudly throughout the whole stay, small described as self-contained but quite small. Didn't meet any of my expectations at all unfortunately for what you paid for it. Won't stay here again. The location was convenient.
