Baan Tewa

One of the best experiences we've had. The dishes were extraordinary and surprising. You not only there to eat but also go through a journey that the chef has perfectly and professionally combined. The crew were extra nice and helpful. Overall 12/10

While this dining experience costs significantly more than most dining experiences in Thailand, Baan Tepa absolutely delivered and is worthy of the 2 star designation!! My girlfriend and I were visiting Thailand from America and booked Baan Tepa as our final dinner before returning home and boy it did not disappoint. The menu composition from the amuse buche in the kitchen to the mignardise was a beautiful journey of elevated Thai cuisine. Each course was outstanding and unique in their own rights and the a'la carte additions were amazing as well. The non alcoholic pairing perfectly complimented each course and was well worth the price. The garden tour at the end with one of the staff was a perfect way to end the night. Baan Tepa rivaled some of the American culinary institutions we have visited including The French Laundry, Alinea, and Eleven Madison Park and should not be missed if spending time in Bangkok.

Today I dined at Baan Tepa and had quite a mixed experience. From a culinary perspective, the restaurant absolutely delivers at a two-Michelin-star standard. Several dishes were truly exceptional — Dong Dang Noodles, Crab Crab Cabbage, River and Land, and The Forest stood out for their creativity, precision, and depth of flavor. These courses clearly showcase Chef Tam’s talent and her thoughtful approach to ingredients and storytelling. Up until a certain point, the service team had been warm, attentive, and professional, contributing positively to the overall experience. Unfortunately, one interaction significantly changed that impression. During the meal, I was rudely reminded by an assistant manager who wearing glasses not to take photos outside a limited zone, in a manner that felt abrupt and unnecessarily harsh. While I fully respect restaurant policies, the way it was communicated lacked the level of hospitality expected at a restaurant of this caliber. What made it more disappointing is that this single moment undermined the effort of the entire service team. The warmth and attentiveness shown by others throughout the meal were overshadowed, and the overall experience shifted from enjoyable to uncomfortable. In a restaurant where so much care is put into both cuisine and service, it’s unfortunate that one interaction could outweigh the otherwise excellent work of both the kitchen and front-of-house team. I hope this can be addressed, as Chef Tam’s cuisine truly deserves a service experience that reflects the same level of excellence.

All ingredients were extraordinary. The service was great. The dishes made me wonder how such an ingredient could turn out like that (in a good way). However, if I were asked to tell the experience, the food taste would not be the first to mention - every dish tasted great but nothing was exceptionally outstanding in my feeling.

I really enjoyed the dinner here. The chicken liver pate add on is a must.

We celebrated our 18th anniversary here and it was such a great experience The overall experience from staff, food and journey through the food was just outstanding. The flavors and skills of Chef Tam is definitely worth the experience. The way Chef Tam takes local ingredients, fuses it with modern technique to make modern Thai cuisine is out of this world. We will be honored if we are able to come back on our next trip to thailand Special shoutout to Benz (our waiter) for making our day extra special!

amazing experience at Baan Tepa. the storytelling that accompanied the courses was interesting and educational. great attention to detail and thoughtful in all things prepared and served, from the building to the candles on the table. great to see their garden with the howngrown plants in the back as well.

Worthy of a 2* experience, it was exceptionally good. The ambiance is beautiful, with plenty of teak, yet contemporary. The atmosphere is informal, with many younger guests, and has a very upscale café-style feel. We appreciated the love for ancient Thai cooking techniques applied in a contemporary way: plenty of fermented food, plenty of locally sourced herbs and spices to create exceptionally refined and balanced dishes. We didn't feel as overwhelmed as usual after seven courses. One minor point of criticism: with four glasses of wine pairing for 2900 Bt, the pours could have been a bit more generous. The overwhelming number of staff worked in perfect harmony to ensure we lacked nothing (even an extra sip of wine).

Exceptional gustative experience where the tastes are appearing progressively or at once depending the plate, and where the sensation in mouth with different bites, crack, soft ... texture make each plate a great and excellent moment. Wine siding is also perfect with great discoveries. All the team deserve a hat off for the service quality, story telling, attentions and mastery of cooking. Thank you for this great moment

Great service, great food, great experience

We came in from Chicago and were very excited to try Baan Tepa. Everything was perfect. My girlfriend and I both thought the meal was the best we ever had. Each dish was completely unique and we were very full by the end. The service was also the best I've had anywhere. The restaurant is beautiful and we really appreciated the tour of the garden. It was really easy to see how passionate each staff member was about the restaurant and the dining experience which made everything even better. They had a had a pretty good list of whiskey/bourbon/scotch on the drink menu and we really enjoyed our cocktails. Overall, this was an absolutely perfect experience and was well worth the money.
