Cyprus Pride
Sobre este evento
Cyprus Pride is the island's main Pride march, organised in Nicosia by Accept – LGBTI Cyprus every year since 2014 (with a Covid break). It takes place on a Saturday in late May or early June, with a festival programme around it and a march through the city centre that ends at the Nicosia Municipal Gardens.
The 2025 edition ran on 31 May under the slogan "Love is not afraid", with marchers dressed in black as a protest. On 6 June 2026 the march set a record: about 6,000 people according to Accept, and around 8,000 across the three-week festival. It was held under the auspices of the President of the Republic and Nicosia Municipality and, for the first time, with a step-free route. The demands are still the same: marriage equality, adoption rights and legal gender recognition.
The 2027 date has not been announced yet; watch accept.cy and @acceptcyprus. In recent years the official pre-party has been at Ithaki by Famagusta Gate.
Nicosia also has a second, smaller march in the autumn: United by Pride, run by Queer Collective CY, starts simultaneously from Eleftheria Square in the south and Kuğulu Park in the north and meets in the UN buffer zone (27 September 2025, 10 October 2026).
