IntercityHotel Karlsruhe

We were stranded there due to a train cancellation, but we had a voucher from Deutsche Bahn and everything went smoothly. We got a clean room right away, and the breakfast was fine with all the usual items.

Excellent location for business travelers. The hotel meets the usual standards. Unfortunately, the breakfast quality and selection have declined, which is why I have to deduct one point.

The proximity to the train station is unbeatable, and I was able to leave my suitcase there until my train left in the evening.

Review: Guest from May 5th to 7th, 2026. The hotel near the train station is nice, but there are hardly any parking spaces. Parking is then a 15-minute walk away. Parking spaces for loading and unloading are constantly occupied. The room was okay, but the ventilation ran the whole time and couldn't be turned off. TV reception was poor, and there was no radio. I recommend that the reception staff work on their tone. Next time, I'll stay elsewhere.

The IntercityHotels concept suits me perfectly: right next to the train station, so you don't have to worry about how to get there, excellent public transport connections, taxis always within easy reach, good value for money, our rooms were always very quiet and clean, with a nice bathroom and a good breakfast. I can't comment on the standard category. Within the IntercityHotels group, they're certainly on par with Steigenberger.

A clean, modern hotel without unnecessary frills, with spacious rooms. Unfortunately, getting onto the Wi-Fi is very complicated. You have to become a "member," register with your full name and email address, create a password, subscribe to the newsletter, etc. To manage all of this quickly and professionally after a very long, tiring workday, I asked for help at reception. Unfortunately, the two staff members only half-heartedly addressed my request on May 4, 2026. Despite the very low number of guests, they didn't take any time for me and obviously wanted to get rid of me quickly. If you want your guests to feel comfortable in your establishment, this is not the right approach.

I stayed one night at the hotel at the end of January, and since then I've been calling and emailing to get a refund for my parking fees, as I didn't park there. For three months, the hotel hasn't managed to reverse the erroneous parking charges back to my account. There's no customer service; they say they're looking into it, but I haven't received an email or a call back. All I get is a series of empty promises when I call. After months, I finally get a reply to my emails setting a deadline for a response. They say it's the finance department's fault and they're looking into it. Now another two weeks have passed.

Rooms are quite good with all the amenities you would expect. Internet is quite fast for a hotel. However, the breakfast spread could be improved. The variety is not only limited, but, only one or two items rotating.

I fell asleep to the chugging of the diesel locomotive. Wonderful.
