Cassero LGBTQ+ Center

Cassero remains Bologna’s most straightforward queer hangout, a place where history and a cheap drink meet. Founded in 1982, it was the first Italian group to occupy a city gate—Arcigay used the Porta Saragozza opening as a foothold. Today the centre operates out of the former Salara building at Via Don Minzoni 18, just steps from the canal port. Inside you’ll find a bar, a dance floor, a terrace, a space for events and the offices that run Arcigay’s support services. The doors open Tuesday through Sunday at 21:00, and on weekends the party rolls on until 03:00. Entry isn’t free; you need an Arcigay membership card, which the staff will sell you at the door if you show ID. The crowd skews young and is a mix of identities, and the drinks stay cheap enough that you can keep the night going without checking your wallet.
