L'Albero Nascosto

The Albero Nascosto was a true gem for us, right in the heart of Trieste's old town. The location is superb, yet surprisingly quiet. We were able to sleep with the window open and heard practically nothing. Our room was spacious and featured a comfortable double bed, a small kitchenette with a refrigerator, and a large bathroom. We especially loved the many thoughtful details and the unique character of the house. Breakfast offered everything you could want for a great start to the day. We particularly enjoyed the wide selection of teas, the various types of honey, and the exceptionally friendly staff. If you're arriving by car, be aware that some of the old town's narrow streets are quite winding. However, there's a parking garage just a few minutes away. Overall, one of the most charming hotels of our trip – we would definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was comfortable -very comfortable beds. The breakfast was lovely, but what truly made our stay so enjoyable was the concierge, Martina. She went above and beyond to make our stay very special.

A lovely, lovely hotel in the midst of old town Trieste. Beautifully decorated and maintained. Most importantly the staff (Martina and Donatella) were warm, welcoming and so very helpful in my stay. I would love to go back there.

We stayed in a spacious, very beautiful apartment, full of vintage furniture and modern pieces, to discover that among the activities they also have an antique shop, right in the center and convenient for visiting the city

Lovely small hotel. My room was on 3rd floor & it was quiet & spacious. Even had a kitchenette and a loft w a spare bed. Very clean & confortable and staff were most helpful!

A little nest in the heart of beautiful Trieste. Welcoming room. Clean. Equipped with every comfort. Even a small kitchen with a coffee machine. Guests are responsible for dishwashing. Separate entrance after 8 p.m. Located in a period building with no elevator, but with a disabled-accessible elevator. Breakfast included. Fair price. I don't recommend a car here. And perhaps for those who work, breakfast should start at 7 a.m.

I give it a harsh rating despite the very spacious room, well-furnished with period, almost antique, furniture, cleanliness, and a comfortable bed. This is for three reasons: the shower was moldy; there's no real breakfast room, just three small tables between the entrance and the stairs leading to the rooms (so there's no room for the breakfast buffet, which is necessarily insufficient); the street our room overlooked (the attic on the third floor) is a narrow one-way street with heavy traffic 18 hours a day (according to the owners, no one passes after 5 p.m.), and the windows didn't block out the noise. Since I'd asked over the phone to be assured of a quiet room, I felt cheated. I should add that a dog is entitled to a place on the cushion of the bench where you sit for breakfast. I love dogs, and this little dog was incredibly sweet, and I couldn't stop cuddling her. However, in a public place where you eat, a dog's place shouldn't be the cushion where guests sit.

We stayed at this beautiful property, practically in the city center, for a weekend in May. Martina welcomed us with kindness, warmth, and great availability, providing all the information and directions needed for both our stay and getting around the city. Parking is available, very close to the property and easily accessible on foot. The rooms are tastefully furnished, very welcoming, tidy, and spotlessly clean. The breakfast nook near the reception is delicious, as are the products on offer—marmalades, bread, and the freshest croissants. Thank you so much for making our stay so pleasant! A very nice hotel, the location is both convenient and inconvenient. It's convenient because it's just steps from the center, but inconvenient because it faces a street where you can't park by car, so I recommend booking a parking space at the hotel and always getting around on foot. I should point out that the hotel's garage is in a different location, not adjacent to the hotel; it's a few minutes away by car and even less on foot. However, it's best to stop and unload your car at Via della Madonna del Mare, in front of Studio Gammeri at number 10/a (type Via Madonna del Mare into your GPS or search elsewhere). The rooms are very nice, spacious, and have a separate kitchen. They're well-lit, have a spacious bathroom, and include a wardrobe and chest of drawers. There's no elevator. The breakfast is good; they have various types of honey and special jams, but not much variety if you prefer savory over sweet. The breakfast tables are located at the entrance to the hotel; as far as I understand, there are fewer than there are rooms, and they're very close to each other due to the limited space. They certainly have their reasons, but they also have another room that I believe they use as a living room. Perhaps adding a few coffee tables there would be a good idea. I think the costs are in line with current ones.

We stayed at the 1BR in front of the park up the hill from the hotel- great space, great heating and felt like a local. Highly recommended
