Sobre este lugar Praia do Canavial

Praia do Canavial is a small cove below the cliffs between Lagos and Ponta da Piedade, reached by a path and a steep set of steps. It has a reputation as one of the western Algarve beaches popular with gay men, and nudism is tolerated at the quieter end, though it is not an official naturist beach. There are no facilities, lifeguards or shade, so bring water and sun protection. The beach shrinks a lot at high tide, so check tide times before you go down.

Difficult descent. It's a fkk beach. Lots of naked. Not for kids or prude people. No restaurant, no toilet, no infrastructure. Take your garbage back.

I went with the family and the dog, because this beach was indicated as good to take the dog. We were surprised by the fact that the beach is almost only attended by nudists, and the beach is small.

The view amply repays the audacity of those who decide to undertake the rough path that leads to it. The colors that characterize it make it an unforgettable picture.

The entire golden coast in the Lagos region is beautiful. My tip is to stay in Albufeira, a central point for visiting the entire coast. You can get to all cities by train. Or rent a car. Depending on the season, if it's summer it's annoying to park. I preferred to use the Uber-type Bolt in Europe as it is more affordable. It has to be installed in Brazil.

Not very easy to access. It's not a very difficult hike, but the path is not very safe. Steps are crumbling and there is a very narrow part that you have to hold on to wooden sticks. If you can go pass that, the beach is beautiful, very secluded, clean and beautiful water.

Filthy. Local government should stop being a gold digger and attend to cleaning needs of this golden beach.

Don't go. Full of garbage, a lot of sick dogs. Avoid at all cost. It's a scam!! Don't believe in other reviews. I have also been robbed. Very dangerous.

This beach is amazing but very inaccessible, best at low tide from another beach but watch you don’t get trapped by the incoming tide as getting off and up the cliffs is only for the senseless or stupid! All the beaches along this coast are spectacular but many with no access at all from the cliff tops or by wooden steps, lots and lots of them! The wooden walkway along the cliff top from Canavial to the lighthouse is quite something else! Sunsets there amazing!
