Aston Hall Hotel

We came here tonight for a meal for 7 adults. First the room was cold, we then had to ask for service as no one was around. Our meals didn’t come for a further 40 mins. No water on the table. The quality of the meal is not much desired, more like feeding a gnat for the price. The gravy and bread rolls we asked for came out when we finished our meals. One of meals had paper stuck to the beef, thinking maybe it was an onion skin, but we were wrong. The desserts were ok but not a lot to write home about. Lack of service, poor waiting time and not enough attention to detail as we spent some money in there tonight. Will not be coming back if it was free.

I visit here 3 or 4 times a year when passing with work. The rooms are very comfortable although maybe a little dated but don't let that put you off. The staff are always very friendly, surroundings are are wonderful. The pricing is very reasonable and I would definitely recommend a stay here.

My best friend had her wedding here yesterday. So much time and effort put into her perfect day and it was apart from the wedding staff and everything they got wrong! Angela the woman my friend booked with had agreed to things they the said wasn't allowed as the day was rolling out! Hannah the girl coordinating and managing the day and the other blonde girl working with her was a absolute shit show! Hannah, we saw her once for a couple of minutes before the wedding started with little guidance and information of how the day was going. We was told we could connect our phones for music while using the mic a the same time that was a lie which completely ruined a speech that had been planned for a long time. They was given a table plan in advance and when we all come to sit down they didn't set out enough places and chairs then they tired using chairs that was odd to the venue dressing which was paid for. Food was terrible and very little of it to cover 80 guests eating. We had the young blonde member of staff walking round saying I'm going to get the sack when we was asking questions and complaining. Then after several things going wrong a few people was told if they basically didn't accept everything they did wrong and stop being angry with them we would be escorted from the premises. My friends had made alcoholic shot favours for the adults and soft drinks for the kids which was run past Angela and she was told it was fine. For them to all be take them all from the tables. The shots because a corkage fee wasn't paid which was never asked for and the j20 juice because they didn't sell that version of it. The till and card payment machine went down so we had to walk from the wedding building into the hotel to purchase drinks. Alot of us had booked rooms to stay the night and this morning breakfast time was a shambles long waits for plates, cups, glasses, juice, cooked breakfast items and a request for gluten free bread took around 15mins. would definitely recommend you look elsewhere to book the wedding you dreamed of because you won't get it here unless the staff are changed and communication between staff improves!

Took my Mum for afternoon area for her birthday having been several times before. Will not return again. Stood at the bar waiting 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. Sat a further 15mins before being asked what we wanted to drink. It then took another 10mins to get any tea and a jug of water but nothing to drink the water from and no milk. A further 15mins before finally getting milk and glasses. Waited 45 mins before food came out. I had asked for lactose free food and what was served was very poor. I ate 2 fingers of plain ham sandwiches and there was a cheese finger sandwich which I don’t eat cheese so gave it to my mum. 3 finger sandwiches, no sausage roll or scotch egg like the standard afternoon tea and the cakes were nearly all the same ie flapjack/rocky road but different variations of it so didn’t eat any of them. Used to be a lovely relaxed setting for afternoon tea but sat in the bar with noisy kids and other people wasn’t what I expected. Service used to be fantastic but in this occasion was terrible and food even worse. Only had one pot of tea which we couldnt drink it all as it had gone stone cold. Waited 20mins for some one to come back to the bar to ask for more and in the end I went looking for someone and just asked for leftovers to be boxed so we could leave. I Travelled 100miles to take my mum for a birthday treat and it was extremely poor and a waste of money as didn’t eat most of it. Gave feedback at reception on leaving and was told someone would email but heard nothing at all.
