CTA João Pessoa (HIV/STI testing, CAIS Jaguaribe)

The CTA (Centro de Testagem e Aconselhamento) is João Pessoa's municipal HIV and STI testing centre, inside the CAIS health unit on Rua Alberto de Brito in Jaguaribe. It offers free rapid tests for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis, plus counselling and referrals through the public SUS system. Local press has given its hours as 7 am to 5 pm on weekdays, but that article is undated, so call or check with the city health department before you go.
