Rango Boutique Hostel

Nice rooms and spacious/ clean bathroom

I stayed at Rango Hostel Boutique for 2 nights in the women's dorm. Staff is so kind, professional, and eager to help. The hotel is clean, constantly stocked with water, coffee, and plates/cups/cutlery for guests. There is a restaurant, bar, and terrace for guest use. I loved the ease of a keypad entry into the dorm, so I did not have to keep track of a physical key. The location is great. Easy walk to the Aguacate train station. Near Santa Fe mall. Guests are friendly and social, but the atmosphere is chill and relaxed. There are activities offered by the hotel, which allows for time to meet people, if interested. Guests all honor quiet hours and incredibly respectful of other's time and space. Loved my stay at Rango Hostel Boutique. I am a solo, female traveler. I would gladly return.

The Acomodación is not bad, although the price is high in comparison to other properties in the area. However the main issue was the communication between staff members and the lack of professionalism of some of the reception members. Firstly I was told the private rooms had air conditioning and fan so went ahead and booked, upon arriving O was told that none of the rooms have air-con, which is not a big deal if I’m expecting it but I contacted the property before booking for that purpose, they didn’t even agree to provide an extra fan, even though it was their mistake so no accountability, mainly blaming a “new staff member” for the mistake. Another incident was that my friends who were staying at a property near by spoke to the morning staff about an option to hold their bag and use the facilities until the time they had to go to the airport, they were told that was possible and they paid for this and were given some bracelets. Later on that day, the night staff rudely kicking them out with the excuse that is not “his problem” because he was not informed about this arrangement and he was initially very rude, we had to explain basic customer service to this person and we basically had to demand what was already Arranged and paid for. I would not stay here again and don’t recommend it, as it was a Very unnecessary stress which is the last thing you need when visiting the beautiful Medellin.

Excellent place to stay! Restaurants and bars are nearby; you can walk there in 5 minutes or less. The place offers many amenities, such as a restaurant downstairs, a bar on the 4th floor, and a small jacuzzi-style pool on the 6th floor for relaxing. They offer tours and daily events (they have a board with the events of the day and week). The staff are super friendly, polite, and attentive! I personally stayed in the shared rooms and had no problems with any other guests, and I certainly didn't lose anything. The rooms have lockers for added security. I would definitely return. Does exactly what you expect from a stay in Medellin. The rooms are fine, but a bit noisy from the street. Many activities are organized and there is a nice restaurant under the hostel. Nice shower and a good bed!

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hotel and were absolutely blown away by the décor it was incredibly cool and full of character. The hospitality from Philip, the owner, was outstanding and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. A special mention also goes to Santiago Villa at the front desk, who looked after us throughout our stay and provided excellent service. Honestly, this hostel in Medellín surprised us immensely. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that it's a very well-thought-out, modern, and well-maintained place with an incredible vibe. Our private room is gorgeous, with a beautiful design, full of thoughtful details and plants that make everything feel even more special and cozy. Something we loved was that much of the service is handled digitally, which makes it very practical and modern. Even so, it doesn't lose that warm touch, which is so appreciated. They also left us a handwritten welcome letter, a detail that truly felt special and made the experience much more personalized. The bathroom is also beautiful: everything is clean, attractive, and very well-designed. And once we got to know the amenities better, we enjoyed the experience even more. The place has a bakery, a pool, a bar, and several other spaces that perfectly complement the stay and make it not just a hostel, but a truly complete experience. There's an amazing energy throughout the place, great vibes, and it's clear they really thought about the guest experience. It's one of those places that makes you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive, and you definitely want to go back. I also want to give a special mention to Santiago Sepúlveda, who served me both at the bar and at reception, at different times and on different days. Honestly, Santiago is a great guy. He's one of those people who truly makes a difference and becomes key to making the experience at a place even better. His attention, attitude, and positive energy contribute so much and make you remember the place with even more fondness.

I stayed in the dorm Poblado, which unfortunately was not very appealing overall. The air in the room was very stuffy, as there is no window to the outside—only one facing the hallway. It was also not clear to me beforehand that there is no air conditioning, only small fans at each bed. It was often quite noisy as well, either from the hallway or from loud music played inside the hostel or nearby outside. Without earplugs, it’s difficult to get a good night’s sleep here. I also didn’t find this hostel to be a great place for meeting other travelers. For what is offered, I consider the price to be far too high. Because of these issues, I wanted to shorten my stay from six nights to two and was even willing to pay for three nights. However, I was only refunded for two nights, which I found quite unfair. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, I would not choose to stay here again.

Also for the good pizza suggestions, you got amazing taste 🍕 I really enjoyed my stay at Rango and have met so many cool people in the short time that I stayed here. So glad that I choose Rango for my first place to stay in Colombia. The rooftop has a nice pool with view and nice music/dj. The female dorm was nice, quite some space and not noisy. I like that they have multiple showers and toilets outside the room. There are nice facilities such as free water tap, coffee and thee, towels and a hairdryer. See you later!

The hotel was very good, the room was clean, and the atmosphere was friendly, as was the staff. It's also very well located. The only slight drawback was that, having booked last minute, I got one of the higher-end rooms, but without a private bathroom. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.
