1911 Hotel

The room was very small for two people with two beds. The staff was very friendly.

Small and clean hotel close to the bus and train station. Staff was friendly, good breakfast.

I had a great experience at the 1911 Hotel. It's close to the train station and the bus station that goes up to Machu Picchu. The breakfast was great and the room was very comfortable. The service was also very good.

Happy that we chose 1911 for our 1 night in AC Super welcoming staff who kindly let us check in earlier :) Location is just 5 mins away from train/ bus station, just off the main street so definitely more quiet than many hotels next to the train station Rooms are spacious, clean and new Great hot water supply which is definitely a bonus Complimentary breakfast available from 4:30am with a variety of local fruits, bread, freshly scrambled eggs and hot drinks including coffee

Our room was comfortable with a nice shower however the hotel and our room were adjacent to a very noisy street. The architecture of the hotel features a central staircase with all the rooms around it ( no hallways). This means every time a person opens a door or walks up the stairs speaking, you can hear the sound echo from all the rooms. During our stay there was a power cut but the cook still managed to prepare eggs for us. The breakfast was lovely but the hotel was quite noisy, not ideal if you have a 6am wake up the next day.

Finding a decent hotel in Aguas Calientes is a struggle unless you’re prepared to pay for a high-end resort, which feels pointless since you’re really only there for Machu Picchu. We chose this place because it looked clean and promised comfortable beds—the bare necessities—but the experience was a mix of good service and very poor infrastructure. The Good: Staff and Sleep Quality I want to give credit to the three young men working at the front desk/kitchen. They were genuinely kind, attentive, and dedicated to being helpful, which was the best part of the stay. It’s clear they are doing their best with a building that has some issues. The beds were actually comfortable, and a huge plus was having two types of pillows (including ergonomic ones). The mattresses were good, though the bed frames were incredibly squeaky every time you moved. The Service: Breakfast and Heating - The breakfast was fine—not amazing, but good enough because they had chocolate milk and made-to-order eggs and omelets. It’s a functional meal to get you through the morning. - A major issue was the lack of heating. The room was freezing when we arrived. I had to go down to reception to ask for help; they initially offered a blanket, but I pushed for a better solution and they eventually provided an oil heater for the room, which made the stay much more bearable. The Infrastructure: Safety locks and Wi-Fi This is where the hotel really fails. The infrastructure is poor and needs a serious "female touch" to make it feel like a place you actually want to spend time in. * Security: The door locks are extremely old and flimsy. They didn’t feel safe at all; if I were traveling alone, I honestly wouldn’t have felt comfortable falling asleep there. They desperately need to invest in proper locks. * Wi-Fi: The internet was a disaster. Instead of a normal password, they use a guest portal that constantly kicks you out. Even being right above the reception, the signal was too low to browse or back up photos. They really need to just use a standard password and better routers. * General Maintenance: The elevator doesn’t work, and there is a noticeable damp smell in the rooms due to the humidity. Also, expect a view of messy utility cables right outside your window, which seems standard for the area Final Verdict The hotel is strictly functional and nothing more. The staff are great guys, but they can't fix the fact that the building needs a major upgrade. If you just need a clean bed and some eggs before heading to the ruins, it’s okay, but don't expect any comfort or reliable tech.

For me, the convenience, the service, and the well appointed rooms made the weekend! Be aware that you can definitely hear the buzzing fiestas and events happening downstairs- bring earplugs!!

Highly recommended! The receptionist Ronaldinho was always incredibly attentive. The restaurant staff were also very attentive. We would definitely return.

Fantastic hotel in an excellent location both for the bus to Machu Picchu and the train station. Immaculately clean. Lovely staff. Breakfast was excellent with full provision. Loved the eggs and avocado.

The hotel is so noisy. Machu Picchu starts at 6 p.m., so I had to go to bed early, but I couldn't sleep until 3 a.m. The front desk doesn't answer calls. If there's an event at the playground next door, you can expect to be up until 3 a.m. My window-facing room is even noisier, so I asked to change rooms, but they refused. Just in case there's an event going on, I recommend booking somewhere else.

The location of the room was good because it was close to the Machu Picchu bus ticket office and the train station. However, there is a sports field near the hotel, and on days when there is an event there, the noise is extreme. They say the event is until 1 AM...^^ I called the reception to ask for a room change, but they didn't answer the phone... They said the front desk is open 24 hours... Oh, and as with most accommodations here, it smells moldy and damp. Find out in advance if there is an event around here and make a reservation. I can't sleep because the event isn't over even at 3 AM.
