Hotel Lord Elgin

Recently refurbished. Nice service and ideal location. Recommended.

Disappointed for a 4-star hotel. The Wi-Fi is very slow, and the air conditioning does not cool the room properly even when set to 16°C. No slippers or bottled water were provided, which I consider basic amenities for this level of hotel. On the positive side, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Excellent location, lovely hotel, it's a shame that so few staff speak anything but English. :-)

We had an excellent stay with great service from friendly staff, clean rooms and facilities and great location. Our only concern was that the hotel is under heavy construction, and we obtained valet parking. Every time we retrieved our car, it was covered in caustic dust from cutting concrete, and it’s really bad for the paint and hot on everything. The hotel should have put the valet cars somewhere else during construction or not charge $50/ day for valet parking.

Conveniently located in Ottawa near all amenities and the parliament.

Lord Elgin is the perfect location for your stay. Close to all you'd want to visit. Excellent room and friendly staff. We really enjoyed our visit - we were able to walk to all we wanted to see from the hotel Perhaps booking early on might help with the rates. We loved our stay - this hotel was a great spot for our visit.

I wan to recognize the wonderful leadership of the general manager. I was waiting for my uber I noticed her calmly directing front hotel traffic and checking on guest / greeting guests as they came in. I rarely see the example of such servant leadership as she humbly led my example. I spoke to her and she talked about how much she loved her job and how passionate she is about guests experience. And I believed her because it showed. Congrats to you for being an inspiration, you certainly reminded me of the importance of leading by example.

This was our second stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, it will be our last. We travel to Ottawa frequently for work and chose this hotel again based on our previous experience. However, this stay was very disappointing. The front desk receptionist was rude and unprofessional. The way she spoke to my husband was impolite and made us feel unwelcome. We stayed for two nights, and our room was not serviced until after 4:00 PM. I had to contact the front desk myself to ask whether housekeeping was going to clean the room at all. When housekeeping finally came, we discovered that the soap, shampoo, and lotion dispensers were empty. These basic amenities should have been checked and replenished before guests arrive. Overall, the customer service and housekeeping standards were far below our expectations. This was a very disappointing experience, and we will not be returning to this hotel. I would not recommend it to other travelers.

I had a option for Fairmont or this hotel but I choosed this and didn't expect that hotel is struggling to even maintain rooms. There is a bad smell in hallways, Rooms need touch ups in alot of places. Washroom were well maintained but small.
