Hotel Dena, Pasadena Los Angeles, um Hotel Tribute Portfolio

I stayed here for a few days on a business trip and really enjoyed the "vintage-modern" boutique atmosphere. The hotel does a fantastic job of blending a historic ambiance with contemporary design. The Highlights: Ambiance: The lounge area is beautiful, and the on-site bar, Agents Only, has a great mood. The Rooms: While the room was on the smaller side, the vintage-modern theme was consistent and well-executed. The bathroom was clearly updated, which is always a huge plus. Parking: The underground parking is easy to navigate with plenty of space. Things to Keep in Mind: Early Check-in Fee: Be aware that if you arrive before 4:00 PM, they may charge a $75 early check-in fee*m. As someone who travels constantly for work, I found this surprising; usually, if a room is ready, most hotels provide it as a courtesy. Also, the front desk agent that checked me in wasn’t friendly at all, perhaps she was having a bad day but still not an excuse to be snob to your customers.. Parking Costs:Daily parking is roughly $36–$40. Since this was a company-paid business trip, it wasn't an issue for me, but vacationers should factor this into their budget. I’d definitely stay here again for business because the location and vibe are excellent. However, for a personal vacation, I might look elsewhere to avoid the extra fees.

In May 2026, I stayed in Room 210 which seemed okay at first but I soon discovered it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned and things were broken. (See photos.) Lampshades were soiled. Light switch next to bed had fingerprints and crud, not wiped down at all. Dusty crusty corners of the room including threshold to the balcony; the latches to open the sliding door were rusty and old and the door took extreme force to even open. Mold in the shower; bathroom fan did not work. The shower water pressure was bad because half the water drained out the tub faucet. Bare bulb in overhead light due to missing piece. Stains on the carpet. No amount of framed photos of typewriters and cameras can compensate for these issues. Hallway noise was audible; voices in nearby rooms and the “slam-click” of every nearby door closing shut. Other drawbacks: No microwave; complimentary water dispenser in lobby was often empty. The “grab-and-go” lobby market wanted $6 for a small bottle of Pepsi. On a positive note: beds and bedding were comfortable and clean. Friendly front desk staff allowed me a late checkout and stored my luggage for a few hours after I checked out. I paid $150 for a double queen room; I wish I had paid a little bit more for a higher quality hotel.

the front desk lied to me. I called ahead and asked if the elevators are key card only, they said No. that's a lie. it is key card locked elevators. why would they lie about that? very shady

Not bad for a convention center hotel.

They keep charging my debit card charges I didn't make and when you asked them what are these charges for they don't know?? The rooms are nice but not great my toilet was a child like size almost on floor the light is very harsh and my TV kept breaking people be ware before you book watch your credit card

Location is great. Only complaint is with rooms being cleaned. We left at 9 am on a Saturday am only to return at 10 pm to a dirty room. They said that on the weekends they only clean rooms that are requested to be cleaned. That was never communicated to us at check in. They said on the weekends they are very busy and low staff and they just cannot provide cleaning of all of the rooms. Huh? You are a hotel. That seems like a basic service a hotel should be providing for the customers.Bare minimum this needs to be communicated at check in and not leaving it to us to figure it out after the fact.

Location is very good but room is very dated and old, I guess they forget to remodel the room while update the common area while they changed to a tribute hotel? Housekeeping is always late and u will have to call and they will come, don’t know how it can be considered a 4 stars hotel more like a Ramada inn
