Ames Pridefest
Sobre este evento
Ames Pridefest is a free, one-day street festival in downtown Ames, Iowa. Ames Pride, a local volunteer group that has run community events since 2017, organizes it. The site is the corner of 5th Street and Douglas Avenue, with talks and family programming inside the Ames Public Library across the street. Expect a vendor fair, a stage with drag and local musicians, and drag storytime. It is a small-town, college-town Pride, and Iowa State students make up a good part of the crowd.
It is held in the fall, usually on a Saturday in early or mid-October. The 2023 edition was on 30 September. The 2025 edition, on Saturday 11 October from 10am to 6pm, drew more than 2,000 people and 69 vendors, according to the local newsletter Your Ames Voice.
The 2026 edition was listed for Saturday 10 October 2026, but we found no coverage of it after the event. The 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked.
