O Austin Pride é a celebração LGBTQ+ anual da comunidade de Austin, todo agosto, com parada pela Congress Avenue — um dos locais mais simbolicamente significativos para uma marcha do orgulho em qualquer cidade americana, dado o contexto político do Texas. O evento reúne cerca de 40 mil participantes ao redor do corredor da Congress Avenue para a parada, seguida de festival com vários palcos, organizações comunitárias, vendedores de comida e toda a gama de atividades. Agosto em Austin é quente — temperaturas podem passar dos 38°C —, mas o evento atrai participantes comprometidos que entendem que a visibilidade no Texas é tanto ato político quanto celebração. O Austin Pride é operado pela Austin Pride, organização sem fins lucrativos que produz o evento desde 1997 e coordena a programação mais ampla do Pride Month em parceria com bares, organizações e endereços culturais da cidade.
