Metropolitan is a long-running queer bar at 559 Lorimer Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It is a dedicated gay bar, not just a friendly one, and it draws a mixed, mostly local crowd of gay men, queer women and their friends. Inside it is a dim, no-frills neighbourhood bar with fireplaces for winter. Out back, a large yard fills up in warm weather. It is known for free barbecues in the backyard on summer Sundays. Expect DJs most nights and a pool table. The Lorimer St (L) and Metropolitan Ave (G) subway stops are at the corner. Check the website for current events.

Keeping it 100. The girl with the the brown hair and baggy shirt (it’s a vibe by the way) asked me for a tip right away (I would have already . Don’t be wired). Thought it was cute for a hustlin vibe. But she got to relaxed. For my next beeerrrr it took a min because she was outside the bar chatting it up with her friends. Like what are we doing? Cute girl. But GURL. How do you ask for a tip and not capable of delivering.
