Mansion in the Park B&B

We went to a show at Starlight and stayed here so we wouldn't have to drive home. This home is so nice, and within very easy walking distance to the theater. The home has a pool, 6+acres of beauty, and an awesome host.

Historic speldour with wonderful hosts!

Absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful and well-preserved mansion. Gary and Laura were excellent hosts, preparing us a fresh and delicious breakfast both mornings. Gary also provided some good suggestions for things to do in town. The location was perfect for us to walk to our concert at Starlight Theater. We didn't visit, but it's also right next to the zoo. It is convenient enough for an easy drive to any of the other sites in town. You'll also want to plan some of your time for appreciating the mansion and grounds. The home is full of so many cool details that are worth checking out. We used the pool as well, which was crystal clear water, well maintained, and with a charming pool deck. Our room was very comfortable, with a nice bed and bedding. The bathroom had a giant soaking tub that had a sprayer attachment. The lack of a normal shower was different, but I enjoyed relaxing in the tub. Our room didn't have a TV, if that matters to you. We wouldn't have used it anyway, so didn't mind at all. The lack of a lock on the bedroom door was the only thing we wished was different. I understand the desire to keep it feeling original, but it seems there should be some easy solutions to help guests feel safe. Not that we didn't, but some people wouldn't be comfortable without a locked door. Overall, we absolutely loved the place and are looking for reasons to come back and bring friends with us for the other rooms. My first visit to The Mansion at the Park was comfortable, relaxing and fun. The beautiful home is well preserved and decorated with period furniture. The Wesches are excellent hosts, focused on their guest's experience. I was pleased with my experience and recommend it. I'll be back!

The mansion is such a great place to stay. Beautifully decorated, well appointed and so relaxing. They make you feel right at home and being across from a huge park and the Zoo/aquarium is very handy. Have stayed there twice and will definitely return in the future.

The Mansion in the park is INCREDIBLE!! The furnishings and the details are beautiful and impeccably maintained!! The claw foot tubs was so relaxing!! Definitely will be back! The park being close was also a huge plus! Make sure you ask if the carriage house is available?

Gary and Laura are the perfect Bed and Breakfast hosts. Their home is absolutely beautiful, and the service they provide is stellar. This will forever be our Kansas City go to for overnight stays. It is a 10 minute walk to the Zoo and Starlight Theater. The prices are better than any 4 to 5 star hotel with similar amenities and service. Do not hesitate and book a room for your next Kansas City trip, family reunion, or office retreat. You will not be disappointed.

What an amazing BnB. Beautiful rooms, tastefully decorated, attentive host, spaces to relax, enjoy a fireplace, read a book, unwind. Adjacent to a beautiful park—great for a stroll. Great breakfasts. I’ll be back!
