Luana Kai
Visitors appreciate the quiet, peaceful atmosphere and the convenient location near shops and restaurants, with some praising the cleanliness and amenities. However, a significant number of guests complain about the property being outdated, feeling like a "dump" with old furnishings and excessive rules, and criticize the high cleaning fees for the condition of the units.

Total dive. We couldn't stand staying here. They sure spend an exorbitant amount of money on edited photos of their resort to trick you into thinking it'snocer than it really is. It felt like we were in a prison camp with all the "policies". Talk about a tourist trap. Oh but the owner has plenty of time to try to trash the bad reviews. Red flags all over the place, stay anywhere but here. They have no clue what hospitality actually looks like. Oh and one more thing, the towels provided are like drying yourself with a piece of cardboard.
Love that it is quiet and not.crowded with people. It's close to many restaurants and shopping in Kihei, but without them being at the property, it is quiet and peaceful.
Nice condo.
Great location, condo was very clean. Had all the amenities we needed. Thanks for sharing your place with us.
Luana Kai has now served three generations of my and my wife's family. She visited when she was a child with her parents. Decades later we would vacation there as a newly married couple. Most recently in March 2026, we all returned with our young toddler on a long overdue family vacation. Each time Manager Leslie and the Luana Kai staff helped make the trip special. On our March visit, a heavy kona storm tried its best to make the trip a little more interesting than we would have liked. Heavy rains filled the parking lot with thick, brown mud, while high winds knocked out power for almost 24 hours. But Leslie and staff were hardly fazed. They worked to keep a resort full of nervous and stressed vacationers still feeling at home. They ensured anyone who needed to leave for home could; calling in heavy construction machinery and what seemed like a few favors to clear the parking lot. Before the storm experience, Luana Kai was always going to be our go-to place to stay in Maui. Leslie and staff's patience and compassion in the face of one of the heaviest kona storms Maui had seen in recent years have only cemented that fact.
Love this condo. Repeated 6 times.
