Salus Center has the motto to come as you are but then gatekeeps services if they find you to be too pretty or too different than others. They had no method to report issues or deal with problem employees who were causing great harm to the transgender community; and since I spoke up and was very loud as so they could not ignore the issues at hand, they have decided to ban me from using their facilities. I had committed to donating $4000 a year because I believe in their purpose and the needs of all my fellow transgender siblings, but I can not support this institution as it hides under a guise of helping while actually hurting. Talk around with your friends, you will find a fellow friend who has been burned by Salus within only a few degrees. I experienced from a board member/facilitator/moderator very unprofessional conduct and after attempting to bring the issue up to the board of Salus, was banned for refusing to meet with this abusive person in a mediation session. I've had to talk with my attorney on the matter. While the person I had an issue with is no longer a part of the Salus Center, I am stilled banned for speaking up about a predator acting covertly without the knowledge of the board of directors.
Awesome place l absolutely love what they're doing to help out with the community. This place is truly such a big blessing, for me. Thanks for always being so kind & helpful towards me.
I've been going here since I was 14, it is one of the most welcoming and accepting places I have ever been. The different groups they have and events helped me as a kid and even now as an adult. I always recommend coming here to everyone I know and have never had anyone have a bad time🥰
I went to a Gayme night there this evening. It was open and welcoming. I'm thankful for spaces like this in the community. I hope to attend more events and make friends in the future.
I think it's alright? I've never felt like I could talk to anyone there, which is of course my issue, but I can't relate. I had different expectations I never let go of I suppose? The meetings I go to tend to be heavy on talking through the same issues. Issues that could be solved by googling the Secretary of State, or with a laminated cheat sheet. I'm not in that place and had hoped for more substantial conversations, like shared trauma, emotional and social growth vs anti social behavior, etc.
