Z Hotel New York
Visitors often praise the friendly and polite staff, with some also mentioning good empanadas downstairs. However, a significant complaint is the extreme noise from the rooftop bar and surrounding areas, which frequently disrupts sleep, and some guests found the rooms to be small and not as depicted in online photos.

I booked the hotel for the view, i sadly didnt get a room with a view as i was put on the 2nd floor. I recommend still as The room is nice if you dont care about the view.
Super great experience all of the employees were amazing especially Justin, manny and desia aswell as the night shift people . Comfy beds and great empanadas down stairs !!
Oh boy… do I have a story to tell you. After perusing available hotels, I ultimately decided that the Z Hotel had everything I needed for a relatively simple task of housing guests for a short duration while also being conveniently situated near the start line of the Brooklyn Half Marathon. I arrived late on a Friday night, around 2am, and was greeted by the front desk. Check-in was easy… besides the final comment by the worker leaving us with “oh, you’re on the top floor, there is a nightclub above you. Some guests have complained about the noise. We are completely booked and I cannot move you I am sorry. Good luck.” Well no problem I thought. My wife and I are heavy sleepers and we were exhausted after hours of traveling to New York. This is where we were oh so very wrong. As we’re taking the elevator up to our floor, we begin hearing loud music playing. Warning sign #1…. We enter the room, shower, and jump in bed hoping the noise would go down by the time we sleep (it was around 3am at this point). It was at this time that I believe a mosh pit had formed above us. I heard screaming, jumping, and pounding, all over an unsteady bass that would change just enough that you cannot get used to it and fall asleep. My wife and I threw on our AirPods and played peaceful rainforest music hoping it would block even half of the chaos that was occurring above us. We eventually collapsed around 4-5am when the nightclub must have closed. Later the next day, I try to speak with the front desk and BEG them to move us. I know there are people checking out and we would be HAPPY to leave our luggage in the luggage room while they clean our room and move us to a new one. She says that since the rooms have already been serviced they are unable to accommodate that request. We go back up to our room and find that our room in fact has not been serviced. We go back down and mentioned this only to be told that they don’t service your room unless you ask and pay for it!? She looked at us, said sorry, and gave us ear plugs which you can expect did absolutely nothing against the raging rave above us. Since we were not moved or provided any accommodations, this meant the night before the half marathon was a sleepless and uncomfortable night perpetuated by a hotel that decides it completely okay to have rooms right below a night club for an extra buck. I have traveled in modest hotels across the US and I can confidently say, without reservation, this has been the worst hotel experience I have had. Z Hotel NYC cannot not do the bare minimum of housing their guests in a quiet environment. 0/5 experience. ————— Side note on room cleaning service: Since we did not have our room serviced, my wife requested a clean towel from the cleaning lady in the hallway. She goes to grab a towel from the basket from what was clearly the dirty towel basket. We had to refuse that and clarify that we wanted one of the towels that was clean. Being handed a dirty towel only made me think of what they are giving us when they are “servicing” our rooms.
Extremely loud noises all night from the bars and all morning from traffic and nearby warehouses. Rooms are small, look nothing like the pictures online, and have minimal bathroom accommodations. Way too overpriced, have it 2 stars because the view and location are good. Would not recommend staying.
Do not book here if you plan to sleep. The rooftop bar pumps out extremely loud music that shakes the walls until 4 am most nights. Apparently, this happens on the time and while the service staff was very nice about it and moved us 3 times, you could tell they could not believe how loud it was either. I think the owners only care about the money they are making at the club. Also, there is constantly a line in the small lobby. People waiting to go upstairs to the rooftop. Every time you walk into the lobby, someone asks you if you are staying at the hotel before they let you on the elevator. Rooms are ok, but cheap furniture. The nightstand in one of the rooms fell off the wall. I only gave this 2 stars because the staff was unbelievably nice.
they’re holding an event that is blasting music making the walls shake until 4am. i can’t sleep at all. when i called the front desk, she yelled at me.
