Hilton Garden Inn Columbus-University Area

I am beyond disappointed with my recent stay at this Hilton location. There were numerous issues throughout my visit that made this one of the worst experiences I have had with a Hilton property. After traveling more than eight hours, we entered our room and were immediately overwhelmed by the smell of standing water and mold. My boyfriend went to the front desk to report the issue. While we were eventually moved to another room, he was made to feel dismissed and was not even offered an apology for the inconvenience. Later that evening, my family and I decided to enjoy the nice weather on the patio. There was also a baseball team staying at the hotel, so there were several families and children outside. Around 10:00 PM, the sprinkler system turned on unexpectedly. While some children were playing in the grass, my family and I were seated in the patio chairs when two sprinklers activated directly on us, leaving us completely drenched. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk employee, his response was, “You shouldn’t have gotten wet if you were sitting on the patio,” delivered in a dismissive and unprofessional tone. The following morning, both the complimentary coffee and hot water stations were empty. When I informed the same front desk employee, who had been sitting at the desk and was not assisting anyone at the time, he appeared visibly annoyed by the interruption. The rooms themselves were decent, and the location was excellent. However, the television in my room lagged badly throughout my stay. As a Hilton Honors member and someone who typically chooses Hilton properties whenever I travel, I am extremely disappointed by this experience. While some of the facility issues were frustrating, the lack of professionalism, courtesy, and basic customer service from the front desk staff was what truly made this stay unacceptable.

Thea area where the hotel was located it was very quite. A pool we did not use, looked clean. Hair on sink in our room. The same night loud of check in, going to bed and some very hard banging very loud, 1 floor down, shook our floor. Plastic on some of the room doors going to our room. Our room door only had a dead bolt on the door. Light switch int entryway they turned on/off nothing. Desk in the room was coming apart. Restroom on the first floor, around the corner from check in, did not have paper towels or toliet paper, urine and dried urine all over the seat, floor in restroom was dirty.

Everyone is always so helpful and very polite, we always feel welcome, like part of the family.

I was given a handicap accessible room because they had no other rooms for what I needed. While it was spacious I was not happy at all. Bathroom had mildew and the water pressure was very low. You couldnt adjust the shower head so you showered on the mildew wall. The mini fridge made nose all night. O e of the two beds was broken and you could see just how old they were because one of the box spring covers was half off. This was one of worst Hilton branded hotels I ever stayed in.

Great staff with comfortable clean rooms. I would highly recommend.

Meets expectations for the brand. Good location for access to Ohio State.
