About this place Hostería Patagonia Jarke

Hostería Patagonia Jarke is a small hotel on Gobernador Paz in central Ushuaia, one block uphill from Avenida San Martín and its shops and restaurants. It's a mainstream, mid-range place listed as gay-friendly, not a gay hotel. It has a 4.3 on Google from more than 500 reviews. Same-sex marriage has been legal across Argentina since 2010, and couples sharing a room shouldn't expect any fuss. Ushuaia has no gay bars. Expect a cruise-port and trekking crowd, and book early for the December–February high season.

We stayed for five days in winter and loved the place; it felt like home. Special mention to Walter, a super friendly person with whom we shared many conversations and who treated us wonderfully. We'll miss him. The location is excellent, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. We felt very comfortable and at ease.

The only thing I didn't like was the electrical outlets; the room only had the TV outlet, and the bathroom had three. The breakfast is very simple compared to what we have in Brazil. The service in general was very good. The location is excellent, just two streets up from San Martin (the main avenue).

I liked the hotel, although access isn't very easy; you have to walk uphill and up stairs in the streets, which is why we were traveling with children and elderly people. The receptionists were excellent, the facilities were good, and the views of the bay are beautiful. The breakfast is very well served, but simple. The broken staircase on the wooden deck is not part of the hotel's facilities; it's outside and public, so it seems the municipal administration needs to resolve this issue. Everything inside the hotel is in good condition.
