La Topa Tolondra is one of Cali's best-known salsa bars, on Calle 5 near the San Antonio neighbourhood. It is a plain, crowded room where locals and visitors dance to salsa, and beginners can join classes on some nights. It is a mainstream bar and gay-friendly, not a gay venue; same-sex couples dancing is not unusual, but the crowd is mixed. It gets busiest late, especially on weekends and on the popular Monday salsa night. Entry and drinks are cheap. Take a registered taxi or app ride home rather than walking at night.

I love the party atmosphere, going in small groups enhances the experience, I didn't see food on the menu, and the service often lacks staff for the number of attendees.
