Gay Saunas in Asuncion
For a city its size, Asuncion has a surprisingly present sauna scene - and for gay travellers the saunas are often a more consistent social outlet than the thin bar circuit. All the venues below sit in or near the central grid and function as low-key, men-only social hubs.
Menstetic Sauna & Spa
Menstetic Sauna & Spa, on Calle 14 de Mayo in the downtown La Encarnacion area, is Paraguay's only dedicated gay bathhouse and the one that appears in international gay sauna guides such as Spartacus. Facilities include a video bar, an air-conditioned video lounge, a jacuzzi and a small boutique across a compact multi-level layout. Hours run late on Fridays, with shorter afternoon-to-evening sessions the rest of the week. As the country's sole gay sauna it draws a mostly local crowd, and discretion is the norm.
Rebellion Sauna
Rebellion Sauna, in the central area, offers the familiar mix of private cabins, a video lounge and an outdoor pool. It is one of the more established gay saunas in the city and a dependable option on weekend nights.
Sauna 945
Sauna 945, on Teniente Farina, is a smaller central gay sauna and spa that occasionally runs event nights. It rounds out a compact but real trio of bathhouses in the capital.
Practical Tips
Saunas here are men-only and cater to a local clientele. Bring cash, expect basic-to-mid facilities rather than luxury, and follow the same discretion that applies across conservative Paraguay. Ride-hailing apps are the easiest way to reach the downtown venues, particularly after dark.
