Bermuda Pride
About This Event
Bermuda Pride is run by OUTBermuda, the island's LGBTQ+ charity. The first parade, on 31 August 2019, drew more than 5,000 people through Hamilton by the police commissioner's count, far beyond what organisers expected, with activists from Barbados, Jamaica and other Caribbean islands flying in.
Context matters. Sex between men has been legal since 1994, but marriage has gone back and forth: the courts allowed it, Parliament replaced it with domestic partnerships in 2018, and in 2022 the Privy Council upheld that law. The 2025 theme put it plainly: "Pride is Protest. Pride is Power. Pride is Us."
In 2025 Pride moved from August to the first week of July after community feedback. The week mixes performances, a panel, parties, a church service and the parade through Hamilton. In 2026, under the theme "Deep Roots", the parade left at 16:00 on 4 July and was followed by a free concert in Victoria Park.
The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked; OUTBermuda posts them at pride.bm.
