Fierté Montréal 2026
About This Event

Fierté Montréal is the world's biggest French-language LGBTQ+ event. It’s a ten-day festival every August. About 2.5 million visitors come to Montreal's Le Village and the rest of the city.

The festival runs a street fair on Rue Sainte-Catherine Est. There’s a Pride Parade, community gatherings, drag shows, circuit parties, and film screenings. Programming fills all ten days.

People come to Fierté Montréal from Canada, the United States, France, and other French-speaking countries. It shows Montreal's odd position as an LGBTQ+ magnet, both North American and Francophone.

The parade goes through Le Village on Rue Sainte-Catherine Est. The street fair takes over the neighborhood for the festival's run. For LGBTQ+ visitors, Fierté Montréal in August is the big deal. It’s the ten days when Montreal feels happiest, most visible, and most connected to the world.

Practical Tips
Watch from Rene-Levesque
The route down Rene-Levesque gives you the full width of the floats without the Village crowd crush; step across to Esplanade Tranquille afterwards for the free stages.
Community Days do the real programming
The parties get the headlines, but Aug 7-8 in the Village is where you actually meet people. The panels and family zone at Esplanade are free and well curated.
