Cayman Pride
About This Event
Cayman Pride is the annual Pride parade on Grand Cayman, run by a small volunteer committee that now operates as the nonprofit Cayman Pride. The first parade was in 2021, and a committee member recalls about 600 people taking part. That came a year after the UK-appointed governor brought in civil partnerships, which the local legislature had voted down. The committee credits the earlier visibility work of the group Colours Cayman, now called Colours Caribbean.
The parade is a short, free afternoon walk along West Bay Road on Seven Mile Beach. It starts at XQ's and ends with an after-party. In 2025 it was held in late June and finished at Bonny Moon Beach Club, and the Cayman Compass reported more than 500 people. Opinion on LGBTQ rights in the islands is still divided.
In 2026 the organisers moved the parade from June to Saturday 10 October to give themselves more time to find sponsors. It went ahead that day, from XQ's to the Kimpton Seafire Resort, with the message "everybody matters" and Eldridge Legal as lead sponsor. No crowd figure had been published when we checked, and the 2027 date hadn't been announced.
